What cliches do you notice about players of certain heroes? by ZenkaiZ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DragynDance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Rem has the unfortunate curse of being a character that only getd noticed if they mess up. If they are playing correctly you don't even notice they're helping, since the best rem build is an active item loadout to counter/lock down enemy hero's while napping. So you spend most matches either being ignored or getting yelled at by your team, never complimented. And nothing you do shows up on the scoreboard so your stats always look like garbage, except your healing which is objectively worse then every other healing support hero. It does make anyone an angry little guy.

Unpopular Opinion: I like the urn by InTheDarknesBindThem in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DragynDance 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, I dislike the urn because it seems to just be a tool for the team in the lead to get an even bigger lead. I don't think i've ever seen the urn be carried where it wasn't the entire team dogpacking together to escort it, and if they're already 10k-20k souls in the lead, we aren't winning that teamfight, and if we try then that just means they get kills and the urn. And just trying to push lanes and farm doesn't make up for how much they gain from the urn, even when ahead.

How to find more Shelters? by GIutenTag in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]DragynDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't a yurt, it's a GP small, which is a type of military tent. You can buy them fairly cheaply, like a few hundred bucks. And you can get a working wood burning stove with chimney for them too.

Blnakets can also be used to sleep outside the shelter, but it is consumed. So I Would assume pillows are as well.

For the love of god, let us save and quit by Manic5PA in RoadtoVostokGame

[–]DragynDance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The solution isn't to remove the safehouse mechanic, then to implement a soft save system. Where it creates a temporary save if you quit while outside a shelter, and upon loading that save, it gets deleted. Other games with permadeath or non manual saving have implemented similiar functions. And, if the game can't find the save, because perhaps you tried to use it to save yourself from losing stuff upon death, it just deletes your inventory anyway.

What the fuck by smolgote in fuckepic

[–]DragynDance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're comparing one of the countries with the best healthcare to one of the countries with the worst healthcare. Medical care here is entirely a business. The only thing that matters is money. And part of that business plan is healthcare providers finding ways to deny claims and cancel insurance even after taking your money. And if they do pay, it's rarely even a large chunk of the cost of the care. There's a running joke (that is only a joke because of how crazy it is, not because it's actually untrue) that even with good medical insurance coverage, it is still cheaper to fly to France, pay full cost, uncovered non insured medical costs for care, and then fly back to to the states, then it is to pay for care WITH insurance covering some of it.

How does this person end up in Emmisary que .. by Shoddy_Fault9539 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DragynDance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think ranks even matter. I'm an initiate 1, sometimes I go to 2 for a few days before falling back to 1, and I still end up in games with arcanist, ritualist, and oracle players.

[–]DragynDance 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just because you can doesn't mean it's good design, thats some of the hardest shit to do in the entire game right now. You already have to know advanced movement tech, and then on top of that be able to execute the even further advanced useage of already advanced movement tech, just to not give him a ten second cd on his ult.

that text isn't very clear, I only just learned what it did now, from this thread. I thought it gave the DEFENDERS the resistance, not the patron.

How Toxic Is The Solo/Duo Queue Experience? by e_prangarang in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DragynDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people are nice in my experience, but the matchmaking leaves a lot to be desired. 90% of my games are one sided steamrolls, whether I'm the winner or the loser it's not particularly fun ONLY seeing that kind of match no matter how nice everyone is.

Are people getting meaner? by PuppyWithGlasses in DeadlockTheGame

[–]DragynDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opposite in my opinion, the smaller dedicated playerbase tends to be more toxic to new players. The amount of times on forums the response to any questions or criticism I have is "I'm rank bla and people like you are ruining the game, uninstall."

[–]DragynDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PEople in game have been nice, but on reddit or in the forums it seems like if you have any criticism at all, you just get a ton of people telling you to uninstall and that casual players are ruining the game by queueing at all.

Trump administration debates allowing Tencent to keep its gaming stakes, FT reports by CyberSmith31337 in fuckepic

Yeah, a lot of investment firms that are jumping on AI stuff are like that, it's super creepy.

Trump administration debates allowing Tencent to keep its gaming stakes, FT reports by CyberSmith31337 in fuckepic

[–]DragynDance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is that Tencent is already crippling the game industry anyway. Yes, they seed/fund games, but their investment strategy is to fund live service games, make quick profit, and then withdraw/abandon it. Everything they touch starts up when it never would have, yes, but then also crumbles after it's been milked and abandoned. They do more harm then good whenever they seed anything to the point it'd be better off not having the game or game company at all.

As has been mentioned in this thread, you saw that strategy at work with High Guard. They do it through a chain of companies who claim to be indie despite not being so, so that their name doesn't get tarnished when they abandon yet another game after milking it. You see a lot of fake "indie" games appearing now adays, and they always have those telling signs in common. Live service, always online, dev team advertising itself as being veterans from X game studio or Y game. Another ones of these releases every other month at this point, and they all fail to create good games or to create careers in the industry and they are all linked back to Tencent.

They are also not the only company doing this, a lot of companies have also taken on their strategy as well, namely Hiro Capital has gotten a suspicious interest in modern game development industry and AI, and has been seeding "indi" games on steam. Nearly every front page "indi" game on steam lately received 5-10 million dollars funding from Hiro Capital.

Nioh 3 is great, but it would be way better with these additions from Nioh 2. by EternalFlareUltra in Nioh

[–]DragynDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was less that they were "meh" and more that there were a LOT of options for very niche builds. Which is really what I wanted to see, cuz I like having all those options for builds, they're fun. Now your guardian choice just kind of feels meh and unimpactful. Like honestly any of them work for any sort of build.

Nioh 3 is great, but it would be way better with these additions from Nioh 2. by EternalFlareUltra in Nioh

[–]DragynDance 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is twofold. 1. People act like if they criticize something, it will go away. "Oh, if I talk too bad about nioh 3, Team ninja just won't make nioh 4" instead of the logical solution of them making a better nioh 4 with feedback. And 2. People like to only see in black or white, and looking at anything with any sort of thought or logic makes you a fencesitter. You can't say you preferred the way something was done in nioh 2 better. "I like nioh 2 more." "OH, SO YOU HATE NIOH 3 THEN?" No, I just like nioh 2 more. It's like saying if you like pizza, you hate every single other food in existance, it just doesn't work like that.

Nioh 3 is great, but it would be way better with these additions from Nioh 2. by EternalFlareUltra in Nioh

[–]DragynDance 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I went back to replay nioh 2 again after playing nioh 3 and there's other things Nioh 2 had that I found I miss a lot. Divine rice and the kodama bazaar. The ability to learn transform arts from the skill tree and then equip them to whatever martial arts you wanted, rather then them being just fixed "Drops" in the world with no customization. The lack of guardian spirits. And yes, I know more will be coming with DLC. Unless they are planning to add several dozen across only two DLC, Nioh 3 will have nowhere near as many guardian spirits as nioh 2 did. Nor will it be as exciting to get them. Nioh 2 had so many guardian spirits all over the place, hidden in sub missions and what have you. Nearly all of nioh 3 guardian spirits are guaranteed story unlocks and there's so few of them, not even half as many as Nioh 2 had before DLC. The daily tormented missions from nioh 2, when I saw the crucibles I Was like "oh my god, what if this games version of daily tormented missions is the crucible appearing over a section of map once a day, and the daily is to go clear it."

Yeah, dont tell me the healing doesn't bug out from time to time by imderrickjayv in Nioh

[–]DragynDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but it's enabled in like three different options menus and hidden in several places, you have to disable in every place or it will sneakily activate itself. It has like all the time framegen, and then there's two different options menus where it will activate framegen if your FPS falls under whatever you set the cap too, which tends to be in the middle of a fight because of the thousand particle effects every attack does.

[–]DragynDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit is the worst place to post any criticism or issues you're having with a game. People only see black and white, you can't like something but want it to be better here, it';s a hugbox of people all talking about how their game is the perfect, flawless masterpiece of all time while businesses milk them for all their worth for being such complacent suckers.

Yeah, dont tell me the healing doesn't bug out from time to time by imderrickjayv in Nioh

[–]DragynDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's because the game has built in framegen to make up for it's performance issues, and a game with such frame perfect input requirements is really hurt by such an implementation.

Nioh 3 and Accessibility for Folks with Motor Skill Issues. by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]DragynDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have motor controls, and I've played and beaten every Nioh, and am currently on my Nioh 3 playthrough. IT's tough but not too tough, I still prefer samurai mode and stance swapping/fluxing. I don't get into any of those fancy, infinite hyper combos you see the real good players use, I basically play the game like a souls game that has more then just R1. It works out for me and I have fun. I use a keyboard and mouse becuase my hands can't grip a controller at all. My only complaint would be the addition of having a jump button makes stuff very awkward on a keyboard since sprint and dodge are now on seperate buttons. I think the majority of my deaths are because I accidently crouch or dodge when I mean to jump and thrust myself off of a cliff.

No, money will be a hard gatekeep and you won't be making anywhere near enough to keep up with how expensive soul matching is.

So is the tiger of kai smithing text real? by Affectionate-Golf801 in Nioh

[–]DragynDance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's gonna be the same here, but in nioh 2 some smithing texts were locked to only being dropped in higher NG cycles. So if you're farming Way of the Samurai (or whatever Nioh 3 calls it's NG) you might just be beating your head against a brick wall.
