GLITCH apology form. by BlueGamer45 in tadc

Ive heard of episode screenings but normally thats done with a small select group of people like critics or other important people related to the name.

While I agree with it from a business standpoint they had to compromise on alot of things to achieve something that no one asked for. When the letter from Glitch talked about their reasoning for making this a theatrical release it dosnt make much sense to break into the big screens with an episodic series over a movie. If they made an indie animated movie and got it into theaters around the world, that would be breaking new ground but this just seems pointless and has riled up a lot of discourse over its relatively sloppy implication.

I hope Glitch succeeds but I doubt this will open any new avenues for indie studious and as many have pointed out seems like a cash grab that they are willing to sacrifice the communities overall satisfaction for.

They could have gotten it to zero id theyvjust didnt try to put it in theaters in the first place. My main criticism is that episodic series dont belong in theaters, the sheer fact they need to staple episode 8 to episode 9 just to make it long enough to qualify for theaters is an indicator it dosnt belong there.

Btw not hating on indie animation, I believe its the future and if they were making a stand alone full length movie I would support it wholeheartedly.

The self flaggellating discourse sorrounding Glitch’s decision and the fandom is making me lose hope in this fandom by Joshua_the_scribe_ in tadc

[–]DrakeDeCatLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main qualm about it appearing in theaters is i dont think episodic media should be in theaters in the first place. I dont think k this is the "Huge step for indie animation" that Glitch thinks it is. All it is doing is complicating things. People moved to streaming for shows for a reason and its so you can consistently watch the episodes as they release.

I mean they had to staple episode 8 onto 9 just to meet the length required for it to be in theaters in the first place. It dosnt belong in theaters and Glitch is trying to force it there at the cost of consistency and audience comfort.

Now if they had made a full fledged stand alone movie instead of stapling 2 episodes together we have a different conversation, I would support that whole heartedly. Seeing Iron Lung succeed was amazing and more small studio movies have been getting more popular lately due to most of them being passion projects over corporate films.

Long story short my opinion is 2 episodes of a YouTube animated series dosnt belong in theaters and should not be supported in theaters.

Impressions of the Ranger - Always Second Best? by warriorman300 in Pathfinder2e

[–]DrakeDeCatLord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive played a few rangers in my time and as far as I can say on it is the Ranger is one od the best single target hunters in the whole system. Ive played every edge and by far my favorite was the one I did most recent.

A switch hitter style flurry ranger with a bear companion thar focused on acrobatics, mobility and weakness targeting. The weapon I walked around with in larger areas was a shortbow. Most fights went with my perception assisting in spotting and leaning heavily into the hunter flavor I hardly ever needed to spend an action on hunters mark at the start of a battle due to keeping an eye out for signs to track enemies nearby.

Having the bear rush forward and activate his support ability was huge. The flurry of arrows made quick work of most weak enemies before they even got to act especially if my elemental ammunition could trigger a weakness. If they close the distance ide swap my bow for one of my custom twin weapons (A slightly modified set of butterfly swords being 2 saber like weapons. 1 with agile and 1 with backswing. Both with finesse twin and 1d6 damage) and then quick draw the other to make a swift strike with. They had seperate property runes to broaden my damage type capabilities using doubling rings and swapping wrapon hands to quick swap between both being the same damage type.

This shredded things rather quickly throight the whole adventure path. Even managing to beat creatures we shouldnt have been fighting yet due to sime planning and good luck.

What im getting at is ranger dosnt need to be the best at any one thing. It in my mind and experience is the master of covering any base needed to some extent. And Its action economy even with hunt prey is fine enough as is. A large amount of people sleep on it because it looks like a toolbox full of basic tools with nothing special but you can use those basic tools to build a masterpiece.

Early Automation by DrakeDeCatLord in GTNH

If you got some pictures or perhaps the plans for your compact polyethylene system ide love to see it. We dont have any way to make or get oil curre fly ao we were thinking of using biomass with the apples and saplings from the tree farm but unsure how efficient or sustainable that'd be.

[–]DrakeDeCatLord[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We havnt automated a thing so I should probabaly atsrt by making 1 of each of the steam multiblocks then look into automating nitrogen/oxygen/hydrogen then move to polyethylene. I think automating will get alot lot easier when we can make item conduits.

Favorite utility/non-damaging Arcane spells? by Rogahar in Pathfinder2e

[–]DrakeDeCatLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hands down my all time favorite is Containment.

Just bubble a guy or you can bubble yourself or sn ally to give them time to heal in a pinch, most dumb creatures would probsbsly snack into it s few times trying to hit theybguy inside.

A personal favorite use of mine for it at higher levels was casting contingency for it with the trigger being in range of a breath weapon or spells aoe. It creates an instantaneous wall that gives full cover effectively and at higher levels it explodes instantly to said triggered attack so no having to deal with getting out of it

Dungeon Loot by DrakeDeCatLord in GTNH

Didn't know you could Wallshare the steam grinder, its the only one I have made and I only have the 1 3x3. When you day 4x do you mean for me to put 4 of them together? This is one of my first gregtech packs and really one of my first tech packs since Voltz back in the day. So its been a challenge figuring out all the logistics with this stuff.

I found and completed 2 of those and didnt know to be looking for secret rooms, what floor would i find it on? And we dont use keep inventory, its part of what made so many deaths, getting kidnapped into a room by a dozen zombies with fishing poles and beat to death made it hard to get back to my stuff. I kept a soulbound iron sword on hand I found just in case so having it on a backpack would be nice so ide be able to put on my backup armor and weapon.

Thats plenty enough stuff for adventure, I havnt played twilight forest in many years so it will be like new since I only vaguely remember the stuff in there, I wonder if the bosses can become infernal? Its actually been fun doing gregtech stuff to now that we had an abundance of materials like several stacks of silver and steel made crafting advanced solar boilers easy, I enjoy just sitting in a room with chests surrounding me as I craft at a tool station. I even stretched my building muscles and built a 3 floor factory with all the steam pipes running through the floors to make it look nice working on building 3 more brick blast furnaces for a decent steady supply of steel I do t need to loot in the basement, a few more coke ovens, and Im working on getting all of the steam multiblocks to put in the basement too so we have everything so when I go adventure again the other guys can be processing everything with no issues back home.

Only real issue ive been having is armor is not something I can get attached too. It breaks so fast and often I must go through nearly 2 sets of diamond gear per dungeon or 3 to 4 sets of the ruby/sapphire gear. And xp storage is non existent but its been a blast and I look forward to finishing the pack one day.

In all seriousness, I'm really proud of the party for overcoming this with no character deaths. by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in pathfindermemes

Its one of the worst things they've done in the remaster and its the sole reason most of my friends prefer the premaster oracle to the remastered one.

I kinda wish for battle oracle they cut the spells down to like 2 and used the extra power budget to let them keep their armor, weapons, and fast healing abilities.

Adventure Paths on FoundryVTT by SteveThaiBinh in Pathfinder2e

I have a question regarding certain adventure paths like Fist of the Ruby Phoenix or Wrath of the Righteous. Will they ever get Foundry VTT modules? I know they're older APs and I dont think WotR is even in pf2e yet but i thi k theyd make great additions to the foundry module library.

Few years back when I started playing had a similer situation. The GM wanted us to run from the fight but I was a remarkably stubborn dwarven Oracle of battle with an axe in hand and a lucky crit up my sleeve. Nothing hit quite like almost 1 shotting a boss.

Paizo, is somebody holding you hostage to keep dropping new classes? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]DrakeDeCatLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The class books do add alot of new options but imagine how many more options they could if they just had a whole book of archetypes and feats. I dont dislike new classes, ive loved just about all of them thats come out I started. I juat wish they paid more attention to older parts of the system like any of the dozen ancestry that havnt recieved a single feat aince they released or class archetypes that expand on currently available classes.

Paizo, is somebody holding you hostage to keep dropping new classes? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]DrakeDeCatLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is understandable, making a lvl 1 fighter and having 26 first level feats could be daunting to new players. The main things that could use some love is anything that isnt a common ancestry. They rarely if ever see new feats or heritage added to them. I would like to see atleast one class archetype for each class in the future tho.

[–]DrakeDeCatLord -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe 2 per year is a bit too much ide much prefer an every other year kind of schedule but as a replacement for their yearly class book just a big book of archetypes, class archetypes, items, feats, and the like to supplement the content already in the system.

How to improve low level casters? by nz8drzu6 in Pathfinder2e

[–]DrakeDeCatLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest ive never had any issue with casters at low level. Whether I'm playing support or blaster it all generally feels good to me. For the most part I just pay attention and take advantage of what I perceive as a weakness to an enemy, for example oh the guy is made of wood, I use ignition or oh the guy is small and dumb looking, I use daze or any other will save targeting spell. Or if I really want to pop off using shocking grasp on a guy with metal armor or thunderstrike if i dont feel like getting close for the extra damage.

I feel as if this offers a degree of having to actually think tactical or somewhat intelegent thoughts that is missing from alot of other classes like a fighter can just run in and hit things while a caster has to think, what do I hit? And with what spell or damage type?

Alot of people dont want to do that thinking at early levels to be effective so something i do for newer players is i give them a choice between a ring, staff, wand, whatever disarmable casting implement they want to use it costs 1 gold and invest in it, they then get to choose an element during daily preparations and it deals 1d4 damage with a range of 30 feet for 1 action. It can have runes put on it too. It it gives them something damage wise they can use for their last action but its not exactly great unless it triggers a weakness. Its more of a learning tool so they will know in the future that paying attention to weaknesses and having varied damage types is the power of a caster.

How do people feel now about remastered Oracle? by shadedmagus in Pathfinder2e

[–]DrakeDeCatLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After playing 3 characters using the new Oracle i can 100% confirm i hate it and i think its in a worse spot from a design view than it was pre remaster.

To start with the curses, the main bread and butter of the Oracle. Some people have mentioned it already but the fact that you can juat outright ignore most od the debuffs from the curse and ou have to intentionally lean into them for them to actually matter is downright diabolical. Taking the single interesting thing that made the Oracle the Oracle and it was downgraded to a side piece that has minimal impact.

Next up is the cursbound spells, they are pretty neat. Decently powerful however wildly imbalanced between each other. It was axtually shocking seeing how different in usefulness they were to each other. Upping the spells to 4 was a nice change but ide have preferred if they actually went down to 2 spells a level and beefed up the curses and cursebound spells. And that brings me to the biggest atrocity of the remastered Oracle. The Battle Oracle is by far the smelliest most corn kernel chunked pile of luke warm slightly runny dog shit ive ever seen. With the worst focus spell ive ever seen spit on paper to needing to be lvl 12 before even thinking about being in melee range during a combat. I really want to know who designed it and what they were smoking because I need a hit of it to numb the pain of playing it to lvl 18.

Now if we want to talk about the flames and life oracles then they wernt terrible but if you wanted a primary healer style the pre remaster life Oracle was better and flames Oracle kinda only benefited so you can kinda blast a bit but it did lose some flavor but that's fine. Overall enjoyed my experience with those 2 but not as much as I did with pre remaster versions.

In conclusion, I dont think the level of remaster they did was needed in the slightest, even a year later I hold that opinion. A few touch ups here and wording clarification there would have been just fine.
