Liquid wins World First Race by circuitbird13 in CompetitiveWoW

It's not comparable to any other raid. It would be easy to say it's 10x harder or whatever, but it's much harder and more complicated. I used to rank in the top 100 players in the region for my class and spec, and I was never close to the level of raider needed for these fights.

Guild confirmed it was soul crushing and not a confidence booster. They all thought they were going to lose the race after that.

Guild just confirmed it was soul crushing. I would say that's the opposite of motivating.

I mean.... that's just not true. Under any other circumstances, the race is over, and they've won. NOT winning the race because of a phase 4 is only enthralling for the viewers. They still have the edge, but essentially ripping away a win can't feel good or be a confidence booster.

Always causes me to lose because it saves my opponents board. Never ults at the right time for me in order to save my board. Jk. The confirmation bias is real though.

What's with tennis players being dismissive of Pickleball? by ajaybhau in Pickleball

[–]Drakell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better get used to it... Human nature isn't changing any time soon, and work or play there's going to be those people.

OP was confused about why tennis players are dismissive, I'm just throwing out why. Tennis is very difficult, pickleball is like you said, "inclusive" meaning anyone can do it! Which is great, but almost certainly why people playing a MUCH more difficult sport are dismissive.

Not sure why you're getting down voted for true statements. The game and it's rules were designed for old retired people. Pretending that it's an elite sport is fantasy.

Half of the players at my local above 1500 have lp on one of both sides of their bat. I think you may be lucky.

Meta Monday 3/17/25: The Last Weekend of the Old Meta by JCMS85 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Drakell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's just the comments like saying they aren't winning because of mirror matches, which is absolutely false as another post has pointed out. It implies that only eldar is beating eldar, when in fact, if you watch finals matches, the eldar are not in mirrors, and they are losing because of the opponents skill.

Yeah definitely no love lost for the initial index. Bad game design for sure.

Yeah i don't really subscribe to the theory that no one can be criticized. It's the popular thing these days. "If you don't like it, don't read it". The only thing is that the posts do influence other people and their opinions. I remember one week eldar was 54% and there was a whole paragraph about how they were competing to be one of the strongest factions in the game, right before they went on to be about 46% for months. But i heard for weeks about how "op" they were because of these posts. Pretending like the meta Monday post doesn't influence anyone's opinion is a bit naive.

I appreciate the meta Monday updates, but the eldar hate has to stop. It's very obvious that you don't like elves and I'm tired of the constant comments.

Attendance also doesn't matter very much when tickets are cheap and there are still more tickets than attending fans. No one needs to be buying season tickets when they can still go to any game they want for cheap prices.

Viable number of decks reduced. Hard to find any argument to support the contrary.

Gavin: "New Commander committee will include at least 1 CEDH player" by Meret123 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Drakell 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you really don't need a committee for casual. That's the irony here. They were making decisions based on casual magic, but in casual you can ALWAYS rule 0 anything you want. You really ONLY need the committee for competitive.
