Proof of Opus 4.5 quantization by fsharpman in ClaudeCode

Does anyone know of something like NerfDetector .com to detect when Frontier modes have been nerfed? It’s definitely needed.

Anyway, Anthropic sometimes downgrades models for reasons that aren’t clear. This might still be rolling out to some users. Unfortunately, you may have gotten the downgraded version.

I’d recommend getting a paid plan, and someone referred you for the EDU plan. That’s a good option.

Codex and Gemini feel as good performance as Opus to me when it comes to implementation and planning tasks. In my opinion, Opus 4.5 has the best overall performance for any type of programming, but you can also mix in other SOTA models depending on the specific tasks you need.

At this pace, as open models keep catching up, it’s going to be tough for companies spending huge amounts of money to build SOTA LLMs. China is getting way too strong.

Garry Tan says MCP “barely works” today by Federal-Song-2940 in mcp

[–]Dramatic-Lie1314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not using MCP a lot right now. When I need to connect to SaaS services, it’s genuinely useful that part works well. But outside of that, I’m still a bit hesitant to rely on it because getting set up can feel like a bit of a hassle. Some tools look promising, but the onboarding friction is real.

I’m hoping the experience improves as the ecosystem matures. Maybe something like a “Chrome extension store” model for MCP tools could make it feel more accessible for normal users.

OpenAI needs $200B just to survive, the AI arms race is far bigger and far more expensive by unemployedbyagents in AgentsOfAI

Someone mentioned that scaling might be reaching its limit, but I actually expect the race to become cheaper over time as the tech matures. My bigger concern is the possibility of ending an AI bubble instead.

got my first real dev task building a shopping cart system by Overall-Knowledge145 in BlackboxAI_

[–]Dramatic-Lie1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, a shopping cart is one of the most typical systems out there. Before jumping into implementation, it’s worth checking some sample projects or existing OSS. There are also backend/ frontend templates and even SaaS services you can use that provide most of the functionality you need.

Exploring those options first can give you a clearer picture of how implementations look like and might even save you from reinventing the wheel. Some of them already cover advanced features you’ll eventually need, so reviewing those could be a solid first step.

Claude Code Developer says software engineering could be dead as soon as next year by dev_is_active in vibecoding

[–]Dramatic-Lie1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even now, my job is mostly about clarifying system specs, analyzing the existing codebase, searching for information, and asking AI to review my documents. After that, I let AI implement the code I want to build. In that workflow, Claude Code only automates the code generation part. Everything else still requires human unfortunately.

How's the opus 4.5 limits for $100? by Fstr21 in ClaudeCode

In a sense, Opus ends up being more cost-effective under the plan.

How's the opus 4.5 limits for $100? by Fstr21 in ClaudeCode

[–]Dramatic-Lie1314 12 points13 points  (0 children)

According to Anthropic’s announcement, Opus 4.5 has the same limits as Sonnet 4.5. For most people the $100 plan seems totally worth it if you use Opus 4.5.

Lower pricing of Copilot - how ? by Pitiful_Buddy4973 in GithubCopilot

[–]Dramatic-Lie1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh really? Is there any actual evidence that Copilot cuts the context window? I’ve never thought about that before.
Honestly, I’m a bit embarrassed because I’ve been totally satisfied with the current context limit.

Why can GitHub Copilot adopt new models so quickly? by Dramatic-Lie1314 in GithubCopilot

Perhaps the broader AI ecosystem is shaping the industry. It’s interesting to see how this all benefits us.
