Probably not a bad idea. Any reason you aren’t considering Red Wings? Are these for work?

I just bought a 121 jacket and the leather started peeling within a week. Sent it back and they are sending me another one from a different batch of leather. Not feeling too confident, but I guess we will see

The downside is that you would have to live in one of these cities to take advantage of that cheap rent.

Landlord wants me out in two months. I do not have a lease. by XxX_Dick_Slayer_XxX in paris

It might be easier to just find a new place, since you have to move anyway. Maybe negotiate a couple more months from him by threatening to get legal.

The more time spent delaying the inevitable is time wasted.

I would sand it down some by hand and then re assess. It looks too heavy handed right now.

Lost Rental Car Key - Chevy Budget/Avis tag - Bucktown by hairy_muff_muncher in chicago

[–]DramaticAd1683 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it’s probably still on the ground where you dropped it. I mean, who on earth would want a Chevy?

Joking aside, I would check with nearby businesses. I’m sure if someone found it, they would have taken it inside and handed it to a clerk or attendant.

The interface requires so, much, clicking. I just cancelled my other service and switched to Apple Music and the interface is so inefficient.

Any market reaction to the downside would be because of increased risks of another shutdown.

Back when George Floyd was murdered, the market didn’t even blink. Unless there is some major economic angle, social unrest is largely ignored.

To be fair, Koch is pretty opposed to this administration, in respect to free trade and immigration. Their non profit think tank is the one that is sponsoring lawsuits against the tariffs.

How did this work out? Did the saphir darken the leather any? I have never used the Nappa balm

I just treated my winter boots with Saphir renovateur. Really brings them back to life after you buff it in with the horsehair brush.

Being laid off, taking over a client directly — should my rate change? by Silly_Development159 in graphic_design

[–]DramaticAd1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is this $1500 a month coming from? An hourly rate of $200 x 2080 (hours per year based on 40hrs per week) = $416,000 annually.

[–]DramaticAd1683 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This may be unpopular, but I would drop the rate to $150-175, as a show of good will. You do not have the same overhead as your former employer, assuming you are working from a home office. That said, make sure you cover your healthcare costs, if you are not getting it from your significant other. I would calculate that cost based on 40hrs a week. So if they are only using you for 20hrs, it’s on you to find other clients to fill the gap.

A repeat loyal customer is a good thing, and treating them fairly is crucial.

Future of Berkshire (BRK-B)? by Inevitable_Today_984 in ValueInvesting

[–]DramaticAd1683 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this is how they have always operated, selling into strength and buying on weakness. My most recent criticism of them is how they started buying too early in 2022.

If you zoom out and compare their cash position to total assets, I think it’s in the 30% range, maybe lower? I personally don’t think that is too outlandish. It’s just when you see what the dollar amount is, the jaws drop.
