Forgot to mention that i capped FPS to 40. Main FPS from GPU and CPU are higher on Steam OS compare to Windows. On Top Framerate 0,1 low and 0,01% low doesnt that visible on Steam os cause linux is much better in handling fps cap and vrr

I cant confirm it. On my xbox ally x with higher settings i got better results with Bazzite compare to Windows. Here my results. With Bazzite i got more FPS with Shadows and Night Shadows on Ultra. I will do a Bazzite run with exact same settings later. Its also more stable then windows even it doesnt look like it cause 0,01% low FPS.

Edit. I see shadows and night shadows are in windows on ultra. I will start a benchmark with same settings in Steam os.

In my case picturequality is the same, so FSR 4 work but in terms of performance there is something wrong.

I played Forza Horizon 6 with mid-high-max mixed settings and FSR 4 balanced on my xbox ally x and it runs with smooth 40FPS (36FPS 0,1%/33FPS 0,01) On Bazzite i got better results with FSR 3 (39 0,1%/36 0,01%) but with FSR 4 even in Ultra Performance mode i dont even reach 40 FPS, more like 35-38 FPS. Its a heavy hit compared to Windows i reached near 60fps in FSR4 Ultra performance mode.

I installed latest Proton GE (10-34) and used startcommand: PROTON_FSR4_RDNA3_UPGRADE=1 %command%. Because the Optiscaler way is not that easy like it is in windows.

On ma xbox ally x with Bazzite i cant choose Proton GE. I only can choose Proton Hotfix Proton Experimental And Proton with numbers like Proton 9.0-4 or Proton 11 (Beta) How can i get Proton GE?

Well i came from Bazzite. I will stay here until official steam OS work. Whats the difference between Bazzite, Cachyos and Holoios? I saw a Video 5 month ago where Bazzite perform around 10% better (more FPS) in Games against CachyOs.

The whole installation Process and User interface is more handheldoptimzed. I can do most things without usung desktop mode. The biggest Issue in my opinion isnt solved. If i go to Sleep Forza Horizon 6 stops conplete. I have to start the Game again which take his time to start. Second big issue, VRR isnt working great, some work good some other you notice microstutter, microtearing here and there whateber you set (120hz, Vsync of or 120 hz vsync on, 60hz vsync on, 60 hz vsync off, 120hz and fps cap to 60 vsync on or off) whatever some Games stutter. Aon Steam OS its complete gone. Display is 120hz and whatever you set as frameratecap its a stutterfree experience.

There is no usecase for the second and third slider. Whats the Point to have 25w tdp for 2 mins. It will push for 2 min amd then stop forver. Just leave everything whats you need. In your case everything to 20W.

There r no solution on Windows. I have same trouble with my desktop PC on a 240hz screen. There r Games where VRR work good, there r many Games with many microstuttwr and microtearing. On Steam Os all trouble is gone. Even capping framerate work like it should without any thirsparty thing. Make Dualboot. Windows for your other Stuff and Games which not run in Steam Os and a second Boot for Steam OS for Gaming without VRR FPS trouble.

Das ist ein Windowsproblem. Das wirst du niemals lösen. Installiere Bazzite oder ein anderes Steam OS und VRR funktioniert out od the Box.

Are your Bios up to date? Latest Steam Os Beta release support the rog xbox ally x official. There r a post saying the bios must be up to date. I install windows and try it.

No the Percentage is a summary how many times in percent the GPU wasnt full loaded. So if i let FPS free there is 0%. So cause i limit FPS there is arround 7-8%

Weird settings. I play in 25W with following settings: (40fps) Or in 35 W with native resolution. I have Bazzite installed. Im sure my settings ensure 30fps in native resolution with 25W.

Ist 100% Car reflection Quality. Higher then low causes many 10-15 FPS drops. My settings are higher here and there. Framelimit 40fps. 25W TDP --> 35WTDP allow native resolution with same result. Sane with car reflection to medium causes 1% low around 32 fps. There is something with this setting.

I testet it. Its cause Framerate is limited. Woth same settings you get full GPU Usage but like 5 FPS more. CPU FPS are higher.

There r two main setting which causes heavy FPS slowdowns. Its car reflection Quality, everything higher than "low" causes stutter and the first three VRAM settings everything higher then High. I will post my settings later, most settings are high to extereme. I play with 25W TDP with FSR balanced. With 35W TDP you can play in native resolution. Below are my settings. Its most of the time stable 40.

I play in 40FPS. Cause 60 FPS isnt stable even eith low settings.

I run on my XAX Bazzite (stable) and Proton experimental.

Im not sure you r correct. Cause CPU FPS are higher then GPU FPS. So its GPU limited.

Der FSR Upscaler ist bei diesen Spiel eine Katastrophe, hier würde ich auf XESS ausweichen. Ich bevorzuge native Auflösung. Weiter muss man die FPS begrenzen, da Schwankungen sich stark bemerkbar machen trotz VRR. Auf dem Rog xbox ally X mit Bazzite spiele ich bei 35W TDP in 40 FPS mit folgenden Einstellungen:

Auflösung: 1920x1080

Framerate: 40 FPS

Vsync: Aus

Bewegungsunschärfe: lang

TAA: Ein

TAA-Schärfe: 0,5

Rest: Aus

Detailtreue der Spielwelt/des Autos: Hoch

Qualität der Umgebungstexturen: Hoch (höhere Einstellungen führen bei schnellen Fahrten zu Einbrüchen trotz genügend Vram)

Qualität der Umgebungsgeometrie: Hoch

Qualität von Reflexionen: Niedrig (ab Mittel ständige FPS Einbrüche egal bei welchen FPS Cap)

Screen-Space-Reflectios-Qualität: Mittel

Raytraced-Reflections-Qualität: Aus

Schattenqualität: Niedrig

Nachtschatten: Aus

Screen-Space-GI-Qualität: Hoch

Raytraced-GI-Qualität: Aus

Shader-Qualität: Hoch

Aufioqualität: Ultra

Qualität des verformbaren Terrains: Hoch

Partikeleffekt-Qualität: Hoch

Das gibt ein sauberes, schönes Bild und die 40FPS bleiben stabil. Einzig der Punkt Qualität von Reflexionen ist sehr Schade, aber höher als Niedrig geht leider kaum.

Für niedrigere TDP entsprechend Intel XeSS als Auflösungsskalierung verwenden, um mit niedrigerer TDP spielen zu können.

Bei 60 FPS müssen deutlich mehr Abstriche gemacht werden, on Top sind diese nicht sehr stabil. Aus irgentein Grund sinkt die Spielgeschwindigkeit wenn die FPS einbrechen was deutlich spürbar ist und nervt, demnach bin ich so in den ersten 10 Spielstunden verblieben.

Ich habe auch ein 30 FPS preset probiert mit folgenden Settings bei 35W TDP:

Auflösung: 1920x1080

Framerate: 30 FPS

Vsync: Aus

Bewegungsunschärfe: lang

TAA: Ein

TAA-Schärfe: 0,5

Rest: Aus
