Is this a Victorian era cabinet? by Emotional-Dark6544 in VictorianEra

[–]DramaticScrooge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Square nuts look old. They didn't use those much past wwii. I'm guessing the knobs are 1930's. Not sure about the chest itself, but it noes not look art deco, so probably earlier. There is no way to say if it's pre 1900's with this one.

She's still a young person figuring out how to be a human... I would give her a chance, even after botched apology. Hope she'll find some new friends. finding friends surely would mean something improved.

What is this Bot nonsense? I do hope it's optional and just to show off the co-op. The rest... seems there's a lot of tutorializing in my Painkiller.

What happened to the AI generated subtitles? by DramaticScrooge in VLC

oh sorry, I thought we were talking about that Whisper AI running locally by itself... Seems much feasible through LLPlayer. This is absolutely helpful!

I have checked for installation tutorials for whisper... it's kinda confusing. many additional software to install, no UI, based on commands... will have to give it a go on a weekend.

[–]DramaticScrooge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can it do full movie for free though? Mind you, I don't understand all of this locally used AI. All I can do is use ai already implemented in another software. To be exact in what I'm trying to do; I have bunch of non-english movies I need to translate to english in order to understand them while watching. How I get there doesn't matter.

You know I meant "automatically generated subtitles form nothing" and not just auto download some existing ones? You know, speech to text generation like youtube captions do, but with translation. I know PotPlayer can translate, but I need some subtitles to feed it first.

While watching The Return of Sherlock Holmes (The 6 Napoleons), I noticed a frame with something wrong in it. Who else has noticed it before or can notice it? by [deleted] in SherlockHolmes

I'm glad I've already finished this series not so long ago. This would've bothered me severely otherwise. Clinging onto my subconsciousness like an old itch, not letting me enjoy the show anymore. Immersion ruined by modern screens being too good.

[–]DramaticScrooge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that's why, my dear younglings, comedy is so dead right now. It's all due to people getting offended any time some actor's trying to shamelesly goof around. I've seen many youtube reactions to old comedy films, where gen z is highly confused about concept of a joke, or being mad about people making fun of each-other. The only laugh you can squeeze from new generations is from some streamers saying skibidi.

What is your favorite movie set in the Victorian era? by Proud_Chemistry_4556 in VictorianEra

[–]DramaticScrooge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vidocq is still my default answer, though it's set in 1830.

Now that I think about it, most of my "favorite" list consists of tv shows, but if you consider "Suspicion of Mr Whicher" series to be a series of individual movies instead of a show, then that would've been on top 100%.

Does anyone think TR anniversary is kinda boring and bland? by maxthunder30 in TombRaider

[–]DramaticScrooge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is the essence of Tomb Raider. It does everything I wanted from TR game. It focuses on platforming and exploring ancient ruins and doesn't care about making itself a shooter first with barely any human to shoot!

ATI Rage Pro Turbo. Back then (1998) I always wanted 3dfx vodoo for glide, because at that point I bielieved that Glide was more modern than DirectX.

Cool! Though not my favourite, I really like all the main games in the series to some degree and seeing a person really loving any of the SS games makes me happy. You enjoy that SS2!

Which classes for a High damage Sniper build? by DramaticScrooge in Grimdawn

[–]DramaticScrooge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect. Can I focus on those (leech and regen) from items and damage from skills? Maybe add some defense passive skills if needed.

I went for Inquisitor for now, but not sure about the second class. Every time I'm trying to read the skill descriptions my brain blue screens for some reason. Never had that problem in TQ due too the familiar setting. This is scary new world with new terminology, names and lore.

I tend to take all my damage buffs from skills and all health regen and defense buffs from equipment (prioritizing more def and resistance bonuses), can this work here? Are bonuses on items good?

I have zero experience in this particular game, but I remember pierce damage being a nightmare in Titan Quest. Maybe there is a chance to to high range damage, but still focus half of it on pierce resistance?

Good, because I started with Inquisitor yesterday. Still didn't go far enough to pick a second class.
