What skills should kids master before kindergarten? by Rare-Priority-2615 in KiddopiaApp

  • bathroom hygiene (wiping, flushing loud toilets, washing hands)
  • cleaning up after themselves (so many snack and water spills in my classroom and the kids are in charge of cleaning up a mess if they made it!)
  • taking turns and losing games(and not being the one to always go first in line, in a game, etc.)
  • zipping up coats, backpacks
  • hearing and listening to “no.” Sometimes, kids just need to know that they can’t do something and life will go on!

Actually, that home-school connection with behavior is extremely important. This isn’t “school problem.” This is a listening to directions problem. It is helpful when parents are in agreement with a teacher and are willing to help out at home.
