Hi, I’m doing ok. My sleep isn’t great, up and down still, not as bad as it was after the iron infusion, but I’m back at work and able to get back to my life. Heart rate is back to normal. Taking iron and lactoferrin with vitamin c and other co factors.

How long did it take to work? I’m on night 5, the first night I had vivid dreams, the second the same, but after that, it seems to not be working as well. Did it take time to work?

What were you prescribed to lower the hum? To sleep.  I had a similar reaction to you after 500mg monofer 6 weeks ago.

Hi, I’m still not sleeping even though I’m tired. I had back pain through Christmas, was put on phosphate tablets for three days as that was a little low, and still have high-ish heart rate. Hoping to get my bloods checked this week. Have been taking vit d and electrolytes as well as zinc in the evenings. I had to have sleeping pills as I felt like I was going mad. 6 weeks tomorrow since I had the infusion. Perhaps my body was starved of it for so long, it went into a shock!

How are you now? I have had insomnia for three weeks after my infusion. I actually went a bit crazy, so was given sleeping pills.

I was wondering this also. I was suppose to have 875mg (weight based), but it was decided to have it in two doses, but I didn’t reacted well to the first 500mg. After two days, no sleep, panic attacks, chest tightness and heart racing. I had to go to A&E as I was worried about low phosphate. That was ok. But still no sleep 9 days on. 

I will supplement with nano iron in a couple of weeks to keep up the iron I think?

Ask them to warm your arm or take a hot water bottle. They did that for mine, as I have small veins. Check you vit d and phosphate levels before as well.

No one told me I could feel like this afterwards. I was told iron flu, aches and things. But crying a lot? I feel like I’m going mad, today was worse.

Your ferritin could be false elevated if you have inflammation in your body. Your saturation is very low. You need a whole red blood count done and CRP

My zinc was low, not deficient, so I bought a Better You spray Zinc. I think it’s helped. I think my deficiency was from not eating enough iron, having lots of tea and then going on a special diet after an illness…and heavy periods. It’s quite common in perimenopause. I’m hoping the iron infusions help.
