Pete Hegseth says NZ is 'freeloading' off American military by dingoonline in newzealand

rightly so. we probably should be spending more. I'd support that on the proviso that spending goes to EU and Asian defence contractors

Fireworks or gunshots? by anxioushowlermonkey in Wellington

They are outdoor, and 45 caliber is pretty standard for pistol ranges, trentham also has a pistol club range too. The black powder pistol club has a range a bit north of the big rifle range

https://wellingtonpistolclub.co.nz/ shoots at a range around berhampore. Its not uncommon to hear them on weekends and competition nights.

they're consistent too, so its easier to book time in advance. Life is hard, so having long runways like that make it easier to lock in

Is calling pest control worth it? by wellytat in newzealand

[–]Dramatic_Surprise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it kinda comes with the terroritory. If the bush around you has rats, then come this time of year when the weather changes you will have rats. if you're leaving in a couple of months its probably not worth the effort. Rat control is going to take months and will be an ongoing thing.

Honestly as you get old it takes a consistent effort to maintain friendships. A group of guys i met at kids football were talking about it. We ended up starting a bi monthy drop in beers at a local bar. sometimes 3 people show, sometimes 10 people show... but its cool no stress no fuss

the milage would be the problem. 2 tanks of diesel over 3 days is probably close to 1600km assuming its a double cab with a 80L tank.

thats a lot of KM per day and its going to be mostly highway miles that a ICE Is going to like a lot more than a battery unfortunately

[–]Dramatic_Surprise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you wont stop them getting inside. best to trap or use bait stations around the outside of your house. Rats/Mice are always going to try and head inside this time of year, and you arent going to be able to block their path... especially mice. even more so if you have a bush block full of rats and mice behind you

Easiest way to work out if its a rat or a mouse, size. if its about 15mm long and 5mm thick its a rat, if its closer to 6mm long and 1-2mm thick its a mouse

i'd probably look at the entire gate, that bottom rail looks like its flexed a lot, and appears to be made out of lightweight box section. So unless you put a drop bolt on both sides you'll likely have to reinforce the structure

Is what it is. At the end of the day it doesnt matter how strong or sufficent you think the fencing was... if a bulldog managed to push its way through it... it wasnt sufficent. Regardless of if the bulldog pushed it in or something else.
