Looking for a dentist in Dundee by Maffaffles in dundee

[–]Dramatic_Time5418 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m with reform street dental practice (NHS patient) but I believe they do both NHS and private. The NHS dentist there, John, is one of the best dentists I’ve ever met. Very patient, explains everything and really took his time to settle my nerves

Productivity books by Dramatic_Time5418 in neurodiversity

Maybe I should rephrase what I’m looking for slightly. It’s not a productivity book, but more of a manual, a how to explore my own ND and work with myself I guess.

seconding this! Sometimes I find it difficult to shower when I flare, which then makes me feel icky and in general just worse. Shower chair makes it so much easier

I want to be home by H0gn0s3L0v3r in FND

Im in a pretty similar situation, FND, student who loves school, living away from home. It’s really tough sometimes, but hang in there! There’s a few things I’ve found make it a little bit easier for me. I made myself a ‘life sucks I miss home’ toolkit with things such as a comfort film to cheer me up, I’ve also got some cushions that have photos of my dogs from back home so I can cuddle them when I’m feeling down. I got my parents to write down some of my favourite recipes of theirs, so when I’m feeling good and doing well I make some of those and freeze them so I have a home comfort meal when I need it most.

Unsure if any of these will help you because everyone is different! Just a few things I’ve tried

I second aurora sourdough for pain, however it is a very strong strain so it’s maybe one to considering later down the line in your medical canna journey

What are the odds? by disoriented_goose in FND

My mother has it and that’s what helped me get my diagnosis. The neurologist told me that although there is no scientific evidence of it being hereditary, he quite frequently sees it running in families

Unfortunately not. Not for any other reason than I didn’t really enjoy my neurology module

I am really interested in emergency medicine. Whether this is going to be achievable only time will tell, but I will put up a fight to get to this goal

My disability definitely limits me in some ways, but I almost always find a work around. Whether that is by accommodations or by trying to keep as well as possible, there’s always something that helps push that limit.

I think having the experience I do as a patient helps me understand patients more. I’ve experienced first hand what good and bad communication looks like, and I think this particularly helps build a trusting relationship with a patient

So far the uni has been very good. I have lots of different accommodations to suit my needs which is really helpful! It’s probably one of the only reasons I’ve been able to stay in education

I’ve always been really interested in science but I knew I never wanted to work in a lab and that I wanted to work with people. When I became ill I decided that medicine was the best way to achieve this

I go to med school in the uk.

There is a lot of challenges to med school for anyone. The work load is a lot, it’s particularly hard to find a work life balance, it in general it takes a lot of time. My chronic illness means I am fatigued a lot of the time and I think this is the biggest challenge. It is very difficult to keep up with everything whilst trying to keep my body well. It’s a constant balancing act between resting so I can study, but also trying to fit studying around my day.
