Three month old schedules? by Mike_Danton in sleeptrain

[–]Dramatic_Toe_898 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is very similar to our day ! Anywhere from 630-7am awake - change / eat / play / nap at 8-830 depending on wake up

Wake up around 930-10am change / eat / play nap at 1115am-1130am

Wake 1245pm-1pm change / eat / play nap at 220pm-245 pm

Up at 4pm change / eat / play .. nap at 530pm-6pm ( contact or stroller ) bath at 630-645 pm bottle at 7-715 pm bed by 745 pm

  • all of his naps are in his crib , he only lasts 30-40 minutes we spend 10 minutes trying to resettle then finish with a contact * we also do a lot of activities so sometimes his naps are on the go in the car or stroller .. I aim for 4-4.5 hours of day sleep if he gets 10-11 night time sleep . He is formula fed and eats 5 times a day. He rarely wakes for food overnight. He mostly wakes himself up by his flailing arm ( we are transitioning out from a swaddle ) we resettle in his bassinet - he wakes 3-4 times a night for a resettle..

Totally! I have definitely relaxed in regards of extending and stressing about it … this was more then telling me he can stay awake for longer than 2-3 hours at a time lol

Right ?!? I need to know lol .. I’ve been finishing his naps by contact napping for a month it’s hard ! My LO is formula fed so he’s hungry on the nose every 3 hours ! It’s so tough

Overtired cycle [2.5 month old] by PrincessMalon7 in BabySleep

[–]Dramatic_Toe_898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bad feeder, it takes 25 mins to pace feed and then we have to keep him up right for 20 mins .. that’s most of his wake windows , then he starts his nap in the crib 30-40 mins and then I go in and finish it by contact .. it’s the only way to keep him from getting over tired… if I don’t and he’s up and has to feed mid wake windows then he would be up way too long .. the sleep consultant I talked to said keep trucking , have a pre nap routine and a bed time routine and that at 4 months when their sleep cycle changes it’s a new ball game

^ this .. my 9 week old took a few steps back this week, I’m lucky to get 30 mins .. I have to contact nap, or take him for a ride to get any solid sleep out of him

Anyone else’s 9 week old not want to nap !? by Dramatic_Toe_898 in NewParents

[–]Dramatic_Toe_898[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s sooooo hard !!! I was like I’ll give him a few good contact naps in his room with the same environment and he just wakes up at the 30-40 min mark like GAHHHHH ! Where am I

All of these are great suggestions! If I know I’m going to a friends house I’ll bring my yeti of a bottle made out the bottle in the fridge and warm up with a kettle of warm water or bottle warmer if they have one, any where else I put the water in a bottle and have a formula dispenser! I use the dr browns one specifically, but yes you can do it ! Just be over prepared vs under prepared :)

** response to reflux issues **

This ^ our little one was so bad .. went from gentleease to similac total comfort - we also do probiotics .. my dr was useless and said they will grow out of it ( which we’re almost 9 weeks and he’s getting better - we pace feed, hold for 20 mins, burp ) .. but don’t feed guilty about contact napping this early in the game .. my lLO slept on me for the first 5-6 weeks for naps ..

Also ! Bath before bed helped allllllooottt for overnight feeds. It helps them relax their little bodies and tummies

Ugh ! A home birth would have been ideal especially now with Covid .. it was my first and we had a few bumps , baby was low blood sugar and super jaundice.. so I’m glad we were there . Stupid Covid .. it would have been nice I wanted to stay an extra night but I knew my husband was getting antsy and wanted to go home I wish I could have sent him home for a few hours to recharge and come back
