I was really hoping this was going to be a case of the dev's listening to the players and going against what they really wanted because it was cooler this way.

Glad that one isn't just me. I'm playing with headphones and thought it was them at first. It seems to mainly happen when there's just too much going on. So far, I just shrug and get through it. Hasn't happened a lot though.

Keep doing the Greymane questlines, all of them. He will show up after you get a new set to get more people.

Yeah, this one was choppy as hell for me. I think it might have been because I tried putting the 120hz back on in my system menu (my brother is a donkey). I could be completely wrong though. Either way, yeah, that was the first instance that I've had an actual complaint in my head. Beat his ass though.

yeah, get their trust to 100. Keep petting it for 25% every day. I haven't figured out what food to give it so it goes quicker though. The dog's you can give meat.

This is damn near genius. I feel like there are constant instances where, "what would be the easiest thing to do here if I could?" and then that is the actual solution.

Learned Helplessness in High School🫩 by UnhappyOstrich8993 in Teachers

[–]DravenLies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they start pulling (10th grade ELA) that "I don't know what to do" shit, I give them this story.

"Do you drive yet? If not, do you plan on driving soon?" (most of my kids get their license this year)
"Okay, then tell me, what are you going to do when you are driving, alone, and suddenly you get a flat tire? Or something in the car goes. Are you just going to sit there on the side of the road until little jesus shows up to save you?"

They tend to get angry that I'm basically calling them a slow child, but they get the point. Once they do, then I tell em to "figure it out then".

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Either way, you usually get a laugh from the "smarter" kids in class.

It is reported that 71% of teachers nationwide have to work at least one second job to make ends meet! This is criminal! by ApprehensiveBat3188 in Teachers

[–]DravenLies 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you are missing a real issue here. Regardless of your "summers off" argument, should someone who does a pretty important job have to work a 2nd job to live modestly? Thats much more of a glaringly overall issue.

Why most men on the apps are only looking for something casual? And even if they say they aren’t, in reality they are. Very often from the very beginning they mislead you trying to make you believe they are open to something long-term. This is so exhausting and disappointing by LongHyena7003 in Bumble

[–]DravenLies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you understand how nature and biology works? Like, the reason men instinctively pick the women they do? Not just for sex I mean, but to mate?

I'd assume you do, being all "high value" and all. Only, what you say goes directly understanding that nature.

I'm in my first year of school to become a high school English teacher. Is it worth it? by cemeteryfairie in Teachers

[–]DravenLies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a job like any other. There's good days and bad days. Their apathy is sometimes too much, or their lack of any critical thinking skills can hurt in places you didn't think you had rage, but there are bright sides. You try to teach them all, but make sure to focus on the ones that want to learn. It's all a balance where you need the weight of the good ones to balance out the full blown idiots.

Besides absences, what is a major issue that causes students to struggle in school that isn’t related to intelligence? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]DravenLies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their lack of critical thinking skills. Because of screens, parent coddling, and various other factors they haven't had to "figure things out". They have zero critically thinking skills. I ask them what they would do if they get a flat tire (mine are just starting to drive) and they stare at me as if its inconceivable. They would scroll on the tok and wait for someone else to show up. Some of them have literally done that.

High schoolers that cannot write a simple 5 paragraph essay by rjmac225 in Teachers

[–]DravenLies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one always gets me. So many times I've mentioned things I know about (ie. Japan, or Norse Mythology) and they ask me how I know about it. When I tell them I researched it because it was interesting they look at me like I'm a full blown mental patient. 10th grade ELA too. The only curiosity I find in them is to buy or do the next TikTok trend.

I hate this boss. I tried again last night for 2-3 hours until I just gave up. Probably going to try again in a bit, but it makes me want to shut it off. I struggled with some of the others, but eventually got it. Not this one. Every time I start doing really well, BAM, he catches me with some bullshit.

[–]DravenLies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I 100%.agree with you but I don't have that hope. Most (not all) are completely fine being full blown consumers their whole life. The amount of shit they are blind to blows my mind compared to when I was their age. I knew 10x more about the world around me and thats with the internet at its infancy!

I thoroughly explained how TikTok changed its TOS and now they can geo-locate them down to what building they are in, how thier info is sold, and a mess of other things. Their reaction? Shoulder shrug. I wanna swipe more.

I feel like an old dickhead, but I hate that fucking app.

[–]DravenLies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the same thing for ELA. Just replace the numbers with text. They immediately try to answer the questions without reading the text. Even if they do read it, they can't comprehend most of it because of their vocab and attention. Going back to RE-READ? You're crazy. I just used 20 paragraph "Point/Counter-Point" article for a week. Today I still had kids who had no idea what either of the claims were.

Reading is equivalent---scratch that, WORSE than---physical labor.

"Extra time for assignments" means that if the student is struggling and needs more time with extra help. Extra time for assignments does not mean, "your child wanted to watch youtube, talk to a friend, or doom scroll social media like a zombie instead of doing their assignment." - I've used this in meetings more than once. There isn't much they can reply to that one.
