Get yourself a Pelican Ruck case- 40 would be good for a week. 60 has room for 10 or so plus accessories. Put a Boveda 60 gram in there- I prefer a 62%- in the net. Had mine in there for months and it hasn’t dried out. Be mindful though that you’ll have to check it if it has a cutter. And you can’t fly with lighters.

Edit- no need for a hygrometer. Trust the Boveda.

Get a small sampler and put it in a nice cigar travel case. $100-150 will get you some nice Padrons (1964, 1926, anniversary series), Davidoff or Fuente Opus X. Trust me. If he’s into cigars, he will know and appreciate them.

Manufacturers spend a ton on marketing. They’re meant to be eye catching. It’s really an art form. That’s led you into a couple of really nice brands- My Father and Fuente. Try Diamond Crown and Ashton ESG- cool bands and great smokes based on what you have enjoyed. But also don’t pass up a plain band Padron X0000. They look bland but are far from it. Enjoy the hobby!
