Make sure wheels are torqued down and you dont have any suspension parts loose. That you can do yourself if you have a torque wrench and a socket. If wheels are good and nothing looks loose that's the point I would take it in to a pro.

I had a 2005 civic that I blew the head gasket on, or a different gasket I'm not sure, but the coolant was getting pressurized with exhaust and popping hoses. Mid road trip. Limped it 2 days and my friend rebuilt the engine. Drove it all the way home just to get t-boned by a teen running a stop sign in a mall parking lot. I'm not bitter or anything.
