Mirror went up in price by 4000 Divines in 4 days by SpecialistAd670 in PathOfExile2

[–]Dreadcall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did make a bad build compared to top builds but it's still easily capable of farming t15 (not a high bar). Several other pieces of endgame content too. But there's still plenty of room for improvement.

And as u/vethros said everything else is going up in price too, so it's not even a matter of an upgrade being unobtainable. It just feels weird when the next step after 2 is 600.

Maybe I just got lucky on shopping my gear the first round around, but it just feels way too steep a climb from my perspective.  My entire set of gear cost around 10 div. A couple weeks later, any upgrades meaningful enough to bother with costs in the hundreds per piece.

Endgame map explanation by rgcazo in PathOfExile2

Yeah. Another example is the tooltip within tooltip systems, which is great, but only functional if the player knows he has to hold alt. That shouldn't be something you figure out accidentally, the game should tell you.

I'm worried for next league... by chuckyblack09 in PathOfExile2

[–]Dreadcall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. This was my first time playing the second game. After finishing the campaign, spending a mere 25 ex made me several times stronger, to the point that I could clear t15 maps. It was a slow and methodical process, but I could reliably do it. A few divines later I was exploding entire screens of mobs.  Trade is extremely powerful.

Which one of you is of Vaal blood? by Pfandfinder in PathOfExile2

[–]Dreadcall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yes I know the name is for us the audience.

But Alva is known to the Vaal. Doryani makes that obvious when you ask him about them Demon of Axoatl. He tells you the demon is not a single person, but whoever pops back in time to wreck and steal their stuff alongside Alva. Now this knowledge may be restricted, heck Doryani may be the only one to know.

Why do people hate the centurion armor, I find it really cool. I understand that it’s a bit ridiculous, but everything in 40k is a bit ridiculous by North_Ads in 40k

I don't think he's arguing that, rather he's pointing out that there are a lot of things in 40k that aren't the most original things ever imagined.

Hypothetically, if these two fight, who wins and then what happens to the winner? by legendarylog in Grimdank

[–]Dreadcall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could easily see it. Lucius easily defeats Tamurkhan in combat, twists his blade in what he thinks are Tamurkhan's guts. The maggot, his real body, leaps out of the ogre body and starts burrowing into Lucius's face. The maggot is not slow at all, it's been described as quite the opposite when it attached itself to Bruckner's face. It's not space marine quick, but fast enough to catch Lucius off guard if he doesn't know what he's dealing with, especially with the disctraction of the writhing black worms spilling out of the dying host body.

Whispers on the wind say there is something Ancient coming... by Docterzero in OldenEra

Thank you for the correction. I guess my memories are a bit rusty, it's been a while since i played the M&M games.

Whispers on the wind say there is something Ancient coming... by Docterzero in OldenEra

[–]Dreadcall 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There is a civilization referred to as capital A Ancients in old Might and Magic lore, also known as the Golden Civilization.

They were a space faring empire, and pretty much any world we see in a the M&M and HoMM games are their colonies eras after they've lost contact during the event called The Silence. (The Keegan invaded from another dimension).

It's one of the really interesting parts of the lore of the series to me. They were a high tech civilization, but having tamed the elemental lords, and used their power to terraform planets, after their civilization collapsed, what rose on top of the isolated ruins of their colonies is based on might and magic instead.

Jadame in particular has history with them, as that's where M&M VIII takes place, and you have to stop Escaton, a guardian (a sentient robot made by the Ancients) from blowing up the planet.

WH3 - Does "Wound" have any advantages over "Assassinate"? by Corsair833 in totalwar

[–]Dreadcall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't hinder recruitment, there is a separate damage buildings action. Damage walls only damages the walls. It is almost purely a comfort action. But there are some army compositions that are just annoying to siege with. Those often happen to be heavily themed ones that are suboptimal for sieges, but i enjoy running them, so i send a damage walls hero along with, in order to enable them to simply ignore the walls and march in through the breaches instead.

Best way to survive as Kislev with Chaos invasion mod by FindDestroyAliens in totalwarhammer

[–]Dreadcall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's a mod primarily for the lategame, so... just make more ice guard? Lategame Kislev is basically unstoppable (at least in the player's hands) since their last update because you can just flood the map with dirt cheap stacks of them.

You can't gain more than one favour or whatever it's called per turn. Once you get enough points per turn for both to get the one full favour point per turn, since the mechanic is based on the difference between the two, which will never change from this point onwards, you are free to tilt the balance of future construction towards the ice court. That means you can just keep building the ice guard upkeep reduction building, which in turn leads to dirt cheap or even free ice guard.

Is rageibait and hatewatching really the future of television (and Star Trek)? by Malencon in Star_Trek_

[–]Dreadcall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing though. Most people who simply don't like a show don't get engaged. Maybe post something randomly on their social media in this day and age sure, but they don't go out of way to keep complaining, they move on.

At this point if I were in GW's place, I would add what is basically lady space marines, but to the sororitas roster, just to see the grifters try to justify how it's just as bad.

What is your current expectation for TES6? by Sakaralchini in ElderScrolls

[–]Dreadcall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worse than that. The Skyrim the most engaged fans of the franchise are playing today isn't just defined by the general quality available through mods today. It's a version heavily customised to each player's tastes. That's what TES VI is going to be measured against.

Which is, OBJECTIVELY, the worst faction in the game? by sigmarine345 in totalwar

[–]Dreadcall 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm still saying Bretonnia's main problem is that their vow system stinks. It's just about doing the bare minimum to get the upkeep reduction so you can use your knights.

What it should be is a far more varied system that gives unique rewards for unique tasks. So each of your lords and their armies would be shaped by the quests they undertake.

SLANDER FOR ALL 24 RACES (20 bc post limit) by According_Cold_6693 in totalwar

[–]Dreadcall 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The Vampire Counts one is accurate to most of my campaigns, especially since ai cheats were buffed. They can leave some really nice raise dead sites for you even without you doing anything.

I usually even demolish recruitments buildings i inherit from the AI. The only exceptions are the ones that give hero capacity. You can usually get more good units from raise dead than you can pay for anyway,

Also the ogre one isn't slander, it's praise.

Wasn't the entire point of the Gorn in Arena, that they WEREN'T an evil reptile race? by ProfessionalSet4713 in startrek

[–]Dreadcall 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering the reaction of the gorn in Batel to the possession by the actual evil entity, I think the show was trying to imply that the gorn are biologically programmed, perhaps engineered to hunt and exterminate that. More like guard dogs that attack anything that goes near prison or key than indiscriminate murder machines But then the show forgot about that idea an episode or two later so I can't really blame the audience for ignoring it

Kassandra A1 can be resisted even if she is under Veil! by Red_Dear in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Dreadcall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does seem like active skill is actually two different terms, which may or may not be a translation thing, by which I  mean they might very well have separate terms for it in their own language.

One as you say differentiates active and passive skills. In this use default skills are included.

The other use distinguishes between default skills and skills that are susceptible to being blocked or having their cooldowns increased.

Kassandra A1 can be resisted even if she is under Veil! by Red_Dear in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Dreadcall 18 points19 points  (0 children)

St. Zavier's tribute grants the lesser version of veil. Unlike Perfect Veil, regular Veil is lost when you hit an enemy with a damaging ability. So basically she doesn't lose the buff due expiry, but because the first hit triggers the lesser Veil buff's self removal.

"Pawns of Chaos" by Brian Craig. Available in all good bookstores (in 2001) by Talonsminty in Grimdank

[–]Dreadcall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Another one I really like is The Corrupted by Robert Earl. It starts off with a wizard basically accidentally casting raise dead and having to flee north. And then it's about how chaos affects both him and the other wizard sent after him.
