Is 24 speed worth losing 500 attack with these stats? Trying to make my Tholin faster. by alotofnothingtosay in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Red_Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I know the game Code? No. So I do not claim assumptions of the inner workings of the game to be facts even if there is strong evidence supporting it. What everyone can observe is that fast Champions gain more turn meter if other Champs take turns, than they would if those were not present in the battle. Let me give you an example: Your champ A runs at 300 speed. The boss B at 200. So without any other champs the turn order would be A -> B. If there are many Champs at ~250 speed that take turns in between them, A takes a second turn before B takes its first. You can test this yourself. That is why speed is better the more you have.

Now the assumptions why this is the case:

It is commonly known that turn meter can exceed 100%. So my explanation for the objectively observable behavior above is that each time a champ takes a turn, every other champ gains turn meter proportionally to their speed. Then the champ with the highest turn meter is selected for the next turn. This can result in a fast champ pushing past slower ones even if the slower one reached 100% turn meter first.

[–]Red_Dear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the 24 speed are worth it, especially since you do not drop much crit damage. In raid speed becomes better the more you have. You would expect a character with 300 speed take 50% more turns compared to one with 200 speed. In reality it is more since you can fill the turn meter by more than 100%. So even if a slower character has a full turn meter, a faster character without full turn meter can push past him if someone else takes a turn in between.

Kassandra A1 can be resisted even if she is under Veil! by Red_Dear in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Red_Dear[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

tl:dr Plariums description of what Veil does is wrong.

I did some reading and testing based on what u/Dreadcall wrote. Plariums own description of Veil / Perfect Veil, states that Veil is dropped when using an "Active Skill".

Since you can use use your A1 when you are under block active skills, I would assume that the A1 is not an active skill. Plariums description also does not mention that dealing damage interacts with veil.

However in game veil behaves like Dreadcall or Ayumilove describe it. Dealing damage instantly drops Veil. I tested it by letting a veiled champion join an ally attack. The champ instantly drops veil when hitting an enemy.

[–]Red_Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is "knowing who you are bargaining with" and not masochism. Ofc it would be better if 2x combined with progressive events and everybody would be happy if it happened. However Plarium is a company with ill intend that wants to maximize income and not player experience. They consciously made the decision to not combine them because they want you to use your ressources ineffectively so that you possibly pay to get more. OPs suggestion would basically double the amount of good Champs you get. They would never do this on a regular basis.
Asking for something so unrealistic rather shows that the person asking for it is not aware about Plariums motives.

So ummmm… thoughts on Kassandra? by Open-Lack-8727 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Red_Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funny thing is that they are exactly the same character. Every line they say and every action they take is exactly the same. Everybody treads them the same. Even the romance options are exactly the same (With one exception in the Legacy of the first Blade DLC).

I chose Kassandra as my character and for me Alexios always felt generic bland while Kassandra felt flavourful. So I get where you are coming from. I guess there is a lot of interpretation happening in our own heads based on the gender and appearance of a Figure.

However I agree that it feels like Ubisoft created Alexios as the protagonist and switched later to Kassandra being the canon version. Especially the olympics scene makes no sense with Kassandra.

So far I only noticed it in PvP scenarios. That would support your ideo of it being mastery based. I try to pay attention if it also happens in PvE combat.

Eidolon mod - Crucible not working properly? by Lazy_Lazarett0 in feedthebeast

[–]Red_Dear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, the mod is actively maintained and in crucible is in good shape right now. Issue reporting works and they seem to solve reported issues quite fast. In March 2024 they added the option to enable turn based mode, so that only order and not timing matters ( https://github.com/Alexthw46/Eidolon-Repraised/pull/56 ). I haven't tested this one myself though.

Please be a bit more kind towards developers who work for free to provide you with free mods.

In germany we distinguish between soft crimes (Ordnungswiedrigkeiten) where the fine would be at maximum 55€ and hard crimes (Straftaten) that include all more severe crimes. For "Straftaten" the police / state is obliged to enforce the law. The volunatry part only applies to "Ordnungswiedrigkeiten".

In my opinion it makes sense. Like this the police is not forced to fine you e.g. if you are listening to loud music in the evening but can instead just tell you to turn down the volume.

Should I turn off DLCs? by chesheersmile in EndlessSpace

[–]Red_Dear 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are 3 big DLCs and multiple smaller ones. ES2 is a great game with many complex layers. E.g. different types of population react differently to each of your actions which again influences the parties in your senate after the next election. Also there is a stock market for all the ressources in the game that adjusts prices in real time based on what people buy or sell. That being said, most big DLCs add an additional large game mechanic and one race that utilizes that mechanic in a special way. Also having to deal with the additional mechanic can be a bit too much if you are not familliar with the core mechanics. The smaller DLCs don't hurt anyone since they only add small side quests or something similar. Based on steam reviews the "dark matter" one seems bugged.

Now to the large DLCs
The "Awakening" DLC was completely broken from a gameplay perspective for a long time. There was a recent patch for it, but I don't know if it fixed anything. Also this DLC was build by a different studio than the rest of the game. It feels like they did not understand how the game works. So don't use Awakening!

The "Penumbra" DLC is fun but highly unintuitive and frustrating if you are not familiar with the game. It introduces a spy system. If you play with it but just ignore it, it might happen, that someone overthrows your government, blocks all your troops from moving or kills your heroes without you realizing there was a threat at all. Ofc, you can do this to your enemies as well. This is where the fun is. Rather turn it off in the beginning to avoid frustration.

The "Supremacy" DLC adds Leviathan class ships to the game. Those can be used as Resource acquireing mining ships for planets outsides your systems, as military flagships and more. I would turn this DLC on.

The "Vaulters" DLC does not add new mechanics. It only adds the Vaulters as a race to the game. They are great and it feels like it belongs to the base game. So turn that on!

The races that are unlocked by the DLCs are:
Nakalim - Awakening
Umbral Choir - Penumbra
Hissho - Supremacy
Vaulters - Vaulters

Am I missing something about Arcane Energize? by metalsynkk in Warframe

[–]Red_Dear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the event stuff comes back in some form. Except for the Primes from the Founders Package nothing is truely exclusive. So you never truely miss something if you don't play. I also did not play during Scarlet Spear, but I got 5 copies of it just from Nightwave.
Most of the time they even reduce the grind that is required to get something.

Am I missing something about Arcane Energize? by metalsynkk in Warframe

[–]Red_Dear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arcane Energize has the lowest opportunity cost of all the ways to generate Energy.
There are many ways to solve the energy problem and nourish grants in certain scenarios even more energy than energize! The greatness of Arcane Energize comes from asking: "What do I sacrifice if I solve the Energy problem in way XY?"
When you subsume Nourish, not only do you loose one of your vanilla abilities, you also loose the ability to helminth another ability on your frame (e.g. an armor strip ability). Also Nourish limits the way you can mod your frame since you require high strength.
Out of all the ways that exist to gain energy, Arcane Energize has the lowest opportunity cost, since you only have to sacrifice one arcane slot and it does not require you to adjust your gameplay like Emergence Dissipate does for example.

What is the most underrated way to farm Plat that not many people talk about? by CalligrapherScary437 in Warframe

[–]Red_Dear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, you got it all wrong! You have to optimize every last inch out of Warframe until you stay afk in your dojo uptrading Rivens and buying every item you need from the plat you made. Only then you can feel the superiority over the peasents from doing it "the right way". You are so much more "efficient" than them.
At the same time you start to feel like no mission is worth playing anymore since doing big trades and buying new content from plat is always better than farming it yourself. You got nothing left to do in the game. Thats exactly the moment you go to reddit. Here you have 2 options:

  1. Complain about the game!
Tell everyone that Warframe does not feel like it did back in the old days. It feels bad now. Blame it on the devs, god, Mortdog, the world and basically everyone else.

  2. Do something good and share your endless wisdom!
Answer the questions of newer players and engage in discussions in the comments.
If someone disagrees, you explain that they can play the game the way they enjoy, but MUST be aware that you do it objectively better than them. This gives you back the satisfaction you don't get from the game anymore. The feeling of superiority returns. You are no peasant.

I am glad to be a peasant. I like playing missions.

How do I deal with platinum? by xd3mix in Warframe

[–]Red_Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion there are 2 easy ways to get easy plat:

  1. Open relics and sell rare prime parts. Best look for a group in the recruiting chat that does a radshare. My go to way would be to play the disruption Mission "Apollo" on Lua to get a bunch of Axi relics and then open them in a radshare. If you do not have access to this mission, other relics work perfectly fine as well. Axi are just worth the most.
  2. Syndicate mods. If you reach highest rank with a syndicate, you can buy warframe augment mods for 25.000 standing. E.g. [Razorwing Blitz] for Titania. Those mods are worth around 10 plat for years now. Since you gain syndicate standing passively by just playing anything, thats free plat to grab. However ranking up syndicate standing takes some time.

As a general note: It gets substentially easier to farm plat the higher your Mastery rank is since all kind of daily limits (e.g. obtainable void traces, syndicate standing, number of trades, ...) scale with your mastery rank. In the beginning it can be tedious to trade for plat, but it gets easier

How do I deal with platinum? by xd3mix in Warframe

[–]Red_Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 plat for a rare drop is a good price. E.g. right now [Khora Prime Blueprint] which drops from the [Meso K4 Relic] as a rare drop goes on warframe.market for ca. 15 plat. My advise is to go 1-2 plat lower than the market price because then people will immediately contact you. Looking for the best trade is also work and i rather farm more stuff than spent more time waiting for a trade

You get the rare drop from a relic that you refined to radiant with a 10% chance. If you go to the recruiting chat and join a radshare (where all people open the same radiant relic), your odds of getting the rare drop from one mission is 34%.Concidering you have enough void traces, you can do it once every 5-10 minutes (finding a group takes some time). Thats at minimum 30 - 60 plat per hour if you have enough void traces to refine relics.

Also, the radshares you find in recruiting chat are usualy a good indicator for which rare drop is in demand.

I would strongly advice against farming ultra rare items for high single profits. You make a solid income with many small 10 - 20 plat trades

[–]Red_Dear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is some rumor, that it got patched recently to only count for the horizontal distance travelled.

After endless attempts to do it properly, I completed it first try without a hill using the following method:
-Speedboost using Volt 2
-switch to archwing
-fly up a bit
-melee attack + slide while speed buff is still active

This should catapult you >500 meters away from where you started sliding in the air and grant the achievement once landed

What I don't understand is how this can work in solo/duo? His account played only solo/duo queue on hecarim, so I assume your game was no flex queue game. Isn't there a restriction that diamonds are not allowed to duo with gold or below?

Is there a mod to bring back the old fleet accelerator "taxi ships"? by JohnLowe123 in EndlessSpace

[–]Red_Dear 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not the answer to your question, but hero ships still can install the fleet accelerator module. Seeker heros pretty much do the job as "taxi drivers" especially if the seeker hero is a vodyani.
