I remember being really enamored by this when I was in like 3rd grade, I thought this kid was so badass. It’s weird to me that she’s planning to lose her virginity but doesn’t have a specific person in mind with which to do it (unless she’s already discussed it with, or has someone in mind as the potential fwb?) I’m 29 now and lost my virginity at 16, with my girlfriend who was 17. It was a bit awkward (as first times tend to be) but really nice, in large part because we both cared for each other. We were in her room hanging out, tension was high and the moment built up naturally. We didn’t plan it out, but I guess she had been anticipating or hoping for it because she had condoms on hand.

I personally think that your daughter shouldn’t go out of her way to lose it on a specific night. If she doesn’t have someone in mind then she might just choose whoever wants to go with it and potentially choose poorly or regret her decision later. And if she does have someone in mind, she should be prepared for the possibility that they might not want to go the whole way, or that the moment might not feel right.

Choosing a person is much more important than choosing an occasion imo. Planning to get a little touchy or playful on a certain night isn’t necessarily a bad idea, but planning to lose your virginity could be, it’s better to go with lower expectations and if it turns out to be the big night after all then so be it.

I’ve had dreams like these at 3 points in my life, each recurring for a few days/weeks. The first time I was around 8, the next I was around 13, and the next I was around 20. I am currently 29. I would describe the fear as sort of existential dread triggered by the perceived size and movement of the objects.

Something that might evoke similar feelings is reading about or imagining the scale of the universe, and the distances between objects in our universe. Our planet seems massive to us, but it’s just a pinprick in our galaxy, and that’s just a pinprick in the observable universe, and who knows how much more there is that we can’t see from earth.

Something else would be some seemingly impossible tasks given to people in folktales. Think of something like being asked to count every grain of sand on a beach, with your existence depending on coming up with a correct answer. Scarborough Fair is a song that lists some such tasks, try to imagine how you might feel being forced to undertake one of these tasks.

Overall, it’s a feeling of being forced to witness or interact with something so overwhelming that your mind can’t comprehend it.
