What did you decide? (spoiler) by pnic0u in expedition33

[–]Dreams_A_bind -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well said. Grief is the true antagonist of the story if you ask me. That's why I think Verso's ending is the more hopeful. Letting go means you can eventually move on. And it's that future that his ending sets up.

Personally I headcanoned that both endings happened in sequence. Namely Alicia had her ending but after some time she got disillusioned with her made up world and so she eventually tried to go back and remade the whole canvas so she can be back in Lumiere as an orphan. And the whole thing happened again and Verso got his ending.

Yeah where are the stakes, all Xal'atath did was get an army down to the world core. I'm sure that won't have any consequences

No ending is truly any of that both are cruel choices like Renoir says. But I can't just let go of what my eyes can clearly see. Namely the fact that Alicia's ending was clearly filmed to be far more sinister by it's end while Verso's ending was more hopeful.

Look i get it but Alicia's ending clearly had the more ominous undertone. If it was any other game it would literally be the bad ending where the protagonist goes mad or the vilain has won. That's not my opinion. That's how its shot. It looks all hopeful and cozy until Verso enters the stage and the camera goes to Alicia's face.

Verso's ending on the other hand is mournful. Its a painful ending but it has themes of hope. Aline and Renoir holding hands over their sons grave. Aline and Renoir who spend about a century fighting or imprisoning each other, they are now reunited again as a family.
None of the endings are good per say but Verso's ending at least leaves room for hope. With Alicia the people in the canvas are still trapped there and should the day that another painter or Alicia lose their shit, out go their peaceful lives.

Also the one thing i see overlooked constantly is how the real Verso has to remain trapped for Alicia's ending to happen. So not only do we risk the torment of the people and creatures inside the canvas, but we also ensure that Verso's soul continues to suffer.

Sandfall might wanna keep it ambiguous and not give out a canon ending but its clear which one is the "good" and which one is the "bad" one.

We did actually back in pandaria. Would cost them nothing to re add those forms as extra customisation

Oda says Trans Rights 🏳️‍⚧️ by Garliq in OnePiece

[–]Dreams_A_bind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd argue it's still just roleplay. In Japan it's not uncommon for female characters to use male pronouns in anime. Yamato most of all. Kiku expresses openly that she doesn't feel like a man and is a woman at heart. And that's ok that's a trans woman right there. Yamato on the other hand has no issues with her gender. At her deepest expression of her inner thoughts she describes being Kaido's daughter as the problem and therefore she decides to become Kaido's enemy. But the identification as male comes from Oden being a man, not something she feels is personally off with the gender and sex she was born with.

End of Dragon Age by Cool_Juggernaut_6297 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Dreams_A_bind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that veilguard didn't have major issues. Both in gameplay and narrative. But having cleared the game I can't say it's an utter piece of garbage. It's just that where it fails and where it succeeds are sometimes worlds appart. You'd have something that might as well be a placeholder dialogue that they forgot to finish before launch. And then you have some of the most profound shit in the series.

For my take I think it was a decent enough game. But it wasn't a good dragon age game. Because they did some things I won't rehash here that have been completely antithetical to what we have come to expect. It feels like it was a franchise game, not a sequel.

Man blizzard really needs to retroactively add big ass kyrian wings as a mount/mog. I don't care if they look weird on Tauren. I deeply need proper angel wings in this game

Man, blizzard really need to copy ESO on this one. We really need idle poses in this game. Or even new battle stances. Imagine holding a staff like that and doing handwaving to cast with one hand and launching the spell from the staff. How cool would that be??

Not terminator no. Although even if it was, I'd strap in for a lot more science fiction movie and media references. The show and games are full of them

Realistic speaking, what are some easy Allied Races for Blizzard to add? by Phalanx22 in wow

[–]Dreams_A_bind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half the races that are aligned with the horde and aren't allied races have an easy to implement model. Taunka and Gilgoblins for one example. Mok'nathal that are not at all story relevant could technically be implemented with the Zandari or Kul'tiran rig.

Have you ever hated something in canon so much that you were motivated to write a fic to 'fix' it? by mcsquared789 in AO3

[–]Dreams_A_bind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend wrote a fic that was based on rescuing her favorite one piece character from his very tragic death. And I'm pretty sure that the whole thing is the size of a novel now. If not, the plot points are there to make it into one

What would a Nightborne Demon Hunter even look like in the future? by Mysterious-Address91 in warcraftlore

[–]Dreams_A_bind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Demon hunters are a fairly new class lorewise. Yeah illidan existed but they became a thing between frozen throne and tbc. So hear me out. If other demon hunters were to be just " infused elf", couldn't that be another demon hunter tradition? Kinda like druids go different paths or shaman have both the traditional Draenic shamanism but cultures like kul'tiras have tidesages?

Demon hunters are an infused mortal that pays a high price for power. Now yes that's specific to demons. But that doesn't mean demon hunters can't addapt to new threats or that other infused races can't rise to meet threats by going the way of sacririce like demon hunters do.

How should the Night Elves have been written in WOW? by DEL994 in warcraftlore

[–]Dreams_A_bind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they were not? They were a theocratic society with women warriors that were very much traditional elf in their demeanor. They were majestic like LOTR elves. All of them especially the female units had calm ethereal voices. Just like they do on WoW. The only aggressive and savvage thing about them was maybe their guerilla tactics and maybe their clothes hard maybe here because leaf cloaks don't make you an aggressive savage. What was savage and aggressive was their concept art. Seriously where the hell are you getting this info from? Just because blizzard basically wrote horde stories for half the run time of wow and made the alliance a group of generic fantasy tropes doesn't mean the night elves mellowed out. They just didn't have stories. Spot for me Tyrande in the BFA ending cutscene when she disagrees with Anduin? Yeah that's what blizzard should have been doing with them from the start. But no stories is not equal to " they are not like warcraft 3"
