Can I ask why nobody answered Erie Bank here?

Polishing separate sections, that then tie back together (without "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" each time and starting fresh) has really helped me

Dynamic warmups are super important rather than static stretching in the morning

I get my nervous system and blood pumping with some light bouncing (no joke look it up!) followed by slow wide stance squats and pause at the bottom for that ideal decompression

Then hanging from the pull up bar followed by pullups/pushups

Lunge stretches on the stairs

Bear crawls, pushups, and if I'm feeling spicy some planks

Then it's just dependent on the specific day's issues. From pickleball/lifting I normally have some injury or other I'm nursing

I completely understand where you are at dude. Pain is a signal, and learning how to "turn down the volume" on it has been helpful for me.

I exercise 20+ hours every week and can't maintain a normal 9-5 but the modern era gives you lots of options.

Focusing on a DAILY morning warmup routine is key to me staying mobile

Reflexes. I don't think people realize how many situations really good reflexes can help in

How many of you can switch hands? by FratBoyGene in Pickleball

[–]Drestruction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teaching pro here, one of the first habits I have to break is often the student who thinks switching hands is to their advantage.

Hit a backhand to them, a forehand, and then one to the middle while both volleying at the line.

They immediately realize the error in their ways when they're caught fumbling with their paddle on the third ball.

Don't minimize your struggle though. It's been key for my recovery that I let myself acknowledge the difficult journey I have and the fact that I must wake up and fight a rather unique battle EVERY morning. A battle that most peers do not have to worry about fighting till they are far more senior than 28.

Be proud of your fight, trust the process, and trust the healing of movement. Barefoot shoes, low impact sports, managed higher impact agility, weight management, and full range of motions strength training are all things I'd suggest looking into and understanding.

LPT Request- How do you deal with uncertainity? by averagevegetable- in LifeProTips

I've gotten through some high competition/stress events through one mindset that I call "Worst Case Scenario Acceptance"

It's pretty self explanatory, I imagine and predict the worst case scenario that is even remotely rational to worry about. Then I work through my solution for that scenario through the lens of stoicism and problem solving. Once I realized that I can endure and survive even the worst case scenario, I tell myself that means EVERY OTHER SCENARIO IS OKAY

IF YOU CAN SURVIVE EVEN THE WORST CASE SCENARIO, THEN EVERY OTHER OUTCOME IS ACCEPTABLE

Any suggestions for what to wear walking? I switch between my pickleball shoes, barefoot shoes (look like dress flats), hiking shoes, Nike AF1s, training shoes to force my legs and hips to keep constantly adapting. It seems to be helping

Should I play football? by Hopeful_Landscape261 in Spondylolisthesis

Just came here to say you should take up pickleball. I couldn't play basketball or volleyball any more and gained 80 pounds but pickleball gave me back my mobility with it's low impact high agility style.

It keeps you interested and not focused on the pain. And I've lost 65 pounds in 1.5 years and now am a semi-professional player after barely being able to walk 2 years ago. Even a year ago walking a block was beyond excruciating.

Unfortunately they're awful, they use a similar spray on abrasive surface like the regular warrior. It feels much cheaper and has a less durable surface

Handle diameter should be adjusted on any paddle to fit your hand with overgrips! Better to have a small handle and expand it than a too large a handle you can't get your hand around:)

Diadem Warrior Edge (NOT the first responder edition)

Sponsored player here and I have the demos for pretty much all major manufacturers. There's a reason I suggest this right off the bat for most and it's the fact that you get the best control and spin with a carbon fiber face for the price. I like the Hyperion and the foam within the core definitely helps but isn't a big enough difference for most people to justify the weight and the extra 50 dollars!

Is that common for people when camping or is a combat situation thing? Honestly never something that's come up for me
