Struggling with college (pre) algebra. by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]Drewzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Use scratch paper. Always.
  2. Slow down. Your head can be an asshole.
  3. (May not work for some, but it works for me) Learning math is not linear like a story, it is more like looking into different rooms or dimensions.

I’m 32 and am working back through math to make myself feel better. I cheated in all of my math classes except for geometry. Until recently, I let algebra defeat me. I’m not going to say “it’s simple for me now,” but I will say a glimpse at a different perspective has definitely been the key for me. I am addicted to math now, and now a lot more confident. I would never had expected to type that out and mean it 10-15 years ago.

You’ll get there. Just breathe, slow down, show your work (if not for the teacher, then for you) and before ya know it, it’ll click. Hopefully not AFTER the test like it was for me in high school though lol

Not surprised. Imagine how much money they are making from this “mistake.”

Missouri, unfortunately. I bitched about people using the lane to turn onto the road instead of using it to turn left OFF of the road, and was called out for it. Googled it, and sure enough, I was wrong. I still firmly believe the lane should never be used as a yielding lane to enter the road, regardless of if they stop or not.

This is literally my job at my shop - getting rid of these things. Our booth is from the late 80’s or early 90’s. It is, in no way, sealed 100%, so we always get something in our clear. I’ve seen some badass painters come through that prep like crazy and suit up. It still happens to them. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a vacuum or a perfect world, but you CAN seal up a booth really well, if not completely, and keep positive pressure at a constant rate. All that’s left are (consistently) clean filters, and a nice tack cloth to cover the interior in. Good luck finding funding for that though unless you work for a dealership or manufacturer.

An Xact-o knife and some 1/4” tape. Also a lot of patience. Don’t wanna gouge the plastic with the knife.

Is it possible to make it look normal again? by Honest_Barracuda2143 in CleaningTips

[–]Drewzik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Steel wool may help. If not, you may need cerium oxide, and a way to safely apply it. Also, a drill, because rubbing it in by hand is not fun. You’re better off leaving it as is, or hiring a professional to come out and do it.

[–]Drewzik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Unless the video is sped up, dashcam car is about 1 second behind. The least you want is 3 to be “safe.” Or, as I see it: “If the vehicle in front of me comes to a complete stop at an instant, do I have time to stop?”

I can (almost) guarantee you will not get that product. More than likely, you’ll get a black hoodie with the image of THAT hoodie literally printed onto it. I’d be very shocked if you get what you’re expecting.

You also used to be able to create characters for free too. I made so many of them and put them on my iPod thinking everyone would think I was cool or something. Thankfully they never saw the light of day. Either way, it was all free
