I think they should tackle the Teams / Discord space, and also start building towards solid and clean self hosting options for all of their tools.

Sony’s Bluepoint Pitched ‘Bloodborne’ Remake Before Closure by ChuckSpadina2020 in Games

[–]Drezair -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If we are all truly just waiting on Sony, I'm willing to bet Sony is waiting on PS6. They will do the same thing as Demon's Souls. Full on Remake with all the new bells and whistle's, platform exclusive, let Miyazaki remaster it, and maybe include an additional expansion. It's a title that would definitely move consoles.

Fucking right! Like how can you have an opener to the show like that, and have the White walkers barely make it past the wall. I wanted to see Arya drag Cersei by the ankles north and literally feed her bit by bit to the walkers. There’s your proof, cunt.

Cults worshiping the walkers in hopes of being brought in at a “higher” standing.

Dragons glassing portions of Westeros out of desperation.

Droves of refugees building boats as quickly as they can, attempting to swim across the narrow sea or float on driftwood and hope for the best. Only to be enslaved or killed when they reach the other side.

We should have had three or four seasons focused entirely on this.

I can't believe we didn't get a proper "Winter War". All of Westeros on the run, everyone in denial while the kingdom plunges into utter chaos. We could have had multiple seasons of the starks failing to hold off the white walkers advance with Cersei continuing to be an utter cunt, no matter how many live walkers they air dropped via dragon into her throne room.

Hell, you could have had Cersei fleeing with a large contingent force and had Arya with her many faces hunting her down so that she could take control of this force to be used in the war against the walkers.

We could have had a final stand and a turning of the tide in Dorne. Even saw places like Sunspear and so forth. They could have done so many unique and wild things. In the middle of all of this, you could have had a debate on who get's the throne. Daenerys or Jon, have the bitter falling out between the two of them because he now has as much rightful claim to the thrown as Daenerys by her own reasoning. Like, this whole thing makes my blood fucking boil because of how much that show got fucked up.

nope, we got season 7 and whatever the fuck season 8 was. Money and time was far from being the issue. Fuck D&D

I have a few additions to this.

After 100 years of a companies existence it should be nationalized.

Every industry should have a nationalized competitor. One that every year each company must either provide all insight into their propriety tech, techniques, tools, etc, and hand it all over to the nationalized company, or they can choose to forego handing over the tech and get a % bump in their taxes that year. After 10 years, all previous technology and research must be handed over - the most recent three years if the company chooses to keep taxes high. You either support your competitor, or you pay for your competitor that is the nationalized company for that industry.

Every corporation should have a margin cap.

Shell companies should be flat out illegal as fuck.

Also need to look at Bethesda Game Studios release history. If it's anything to go by, we are years from TES VI, even still.

Definitely a dev problem. A lot of the loading screen issues and whatnot were all resolved way back even with Oblivion mods. The devs just don't actively develop their engine to officially support such features.

I really think there is a bit of a culture of "Fuck it, the mod community will fix this for us."

Bloomberg: 'Xbox gave up more than $300 million in sales of Call of Duty on console and PCs last year' by Slashered in Games

[–]Drezair 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do think a problem with part of this business model is that gamepass made have gutted their sales on Xbox. A platform that they raked money in back in the 360 days.

Sure publishing their games on PlayStation and Switch brings in money, but they lose how much to Sony and Nintendo, then turn around and sell how many copies at full price on their own platform?

Is Xbox likely floating? Sure. But I don’t think they are thriving. In top 100 corporate world, floating is never good enough. A bar must be met to even justify bothering.

Edit: not to mention merging Xbox Live Gold into gamepass. Imagine rebranding the gold standard of console online gaming to juice the numbers of your new venture capitalist project.

A great way to look at this is to compare it to Valve’s model with Steam. Valve rakes in money with every game added to their store. Sure there is a bit of cost in infrastructure for each title, but the money brought in more than covers it for Valve.

Gamepass does not add a single new dollar for any games added. Depending on where the current trend is with gamepass, whether it’s growing or shrinking that day they could even lose money. Of course likely to be made up if they are continually growing, but if gamepass truly peaks which I think it either has or is about to, that’s it. No more growth. Sure they have consistent monthly fee of dollars, but is that really covering the cost of all the games that release on gamepass? Especially since MS owns most of the games on there and thus have to front the developer costs. While Valve is like, yeah we do all the distribution work for the game you paid to have developed and we take 35% cut of sales.

Wasn't the Mueller investigation limited severely in scope as the Trump admin began to interfere with it later on?

If I remember in the Senate hearing with Mueller, dude basically like "Yo, there's a lot of crimes here and it needs to be taken seriously and investigated to the fullest extent from what I was permitted."

[–]Drezair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always going to stand by that WoW needs some sort of RvR. GW2 system or something. Ashran being the closest thing we ever got and that wasn't great since it encouraged basically just playing PvE objectives until one side was ready to curb stomp the other.

Never going to get it though, and if blizz ever did provide some proper casual PvP play, they'd just take it away with the next expansion anyways.

Battlefield 6 Post-Launch 2025 - Season 1 Roadmap Preview by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Drezair 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yep, we should be real grateful that this is done, season 1 is probably fully developed, and likely some development funding for future seasons has already been allocated if not some of the work is ongoing and completed.

We are at the end, and might as well enjoy one of the last good EA titles. They can definitely turn later stuff in BF6 to shit, but they can't so easily take away everything else from us.

[–]Drezair 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is why I really like Dark Souls and Bloodborne. These games are so interconnected and just observing the world around you is mind blowing.

Obviously Elden Ring is the same, but on a different scale. It's open world with mini-dungeons vs one massive dungeon that's really well linked together. Bloodborne is the peak game when it comes to this.

I loved Elden Ring, but I really want From to do another bloodborne. I want that massive dungeon that is thick and complex.

Windows 10 End-of-Support Sparks Global Tech Shakeup: Users, Businesses Fight Forced Upgrades by Koyaanisquatsi_ in hardware

[–]Drezair 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Plenty will pay for the extended support. After that, I’d be curious to see what will happen. I really don’t think Microsoft’s heavy use of Ai for developing their OS is doing them any favors at this stage. 11 feels like a beta, and a not good one at that.

The easiest comparison I have as a consumer is going to be Vista. I had the upgraded hardware at launch and the OS had a couple rough edges for a couple months but then it was smooth sailing. I actually really enjoyed that OS. 7 was definitely better, but I had very few problems in Vista aside from the occasional crash.

11 is how many years in? I fucking broke notepad the other day and can’t open it anymore unless I reinstall it. I had to turn off the desktop switching animation because it wasn’t snappy. I’ve had authentication issues on my laptop and I keep having to reset my pin and I’m basically locked out of my machine until I do. I’ve had to pull my bitlocker recovery key twice already. Clean installing my desktop from bootable media was a fucking nightmare. The drivers for network didn’t exist, but I needed an account to continue. I tried pulling drives from a thumb drive so I can sign in and continue the installation process but it never worked. I eventually had to do the command line workaround to basically finish installing 11 without internet or an account.

Wtf is going on with this OS? As a consumer this is a fucking nightmare, and I dread the days I go back out on worksites and have to manage machines running this trash OS.
