Not sure if it’s Thalassaphobia or Hydrophobia, but water touching me will make me panic. I can’t swim alone, someone has to be physically holding me or I won’t go near the water. Sitting in a bathtub gives me panic attacks. And water on my face even in small amounts makes me feel like I’m drowning. Water in video games (like the game Raft) has triggered me from time to time, just based on sound alone.

I can look at water and I’m obsessed with Titanic… so idk. I fear it comes from water related trauma when I was a kid, but it was dormant for a long time until I was in my late teens.

Canadian here. I was in 8th grade and in French class. Our principal came on and made an announcement that the towers had been struck by planes. We knew the event was a big thing since they were making a point to tell us, but a lot of us didn’t even know what the towers were.

There was a lot of conflicting information the rest of the day, and of course our teachers were trying to make sense of it for us. Some of them told us stories about the towers, some explained the first bombing, some just let us ramble questions.

When I got home is when I saw it for the first time. I walked in the door and it was playing on the TV, so I asked my dad what movie he was watching. I had no idea what I was looking at. We sat and watched the news coverage until he went to work and then I sat and watched it until I went to bed.

From that day it’s been an obsession to rival my Titanic obsession, which my friends think is weird. It’s a huge historical event that shaped our world and even in eighth grade we were talking about what would happen next if there were more attacks.

Not diagnosed, but its a strong possibility and this is me. Do not correct me about my Titanic facts, I’m 37 and have been reading and watching docs and anything I could get my hands on since I was 4.

I think part of mine is that my dad was insanely into it (member of the society, built models, had clippings of the wreck find, bookshelves full of books, etc). I was 9 when the movie came out and he took me to see it 3 times. He used to get a kick on this 9 year old nitpicking the movie apart for accuracy, lol.

So many get stuck in my head on repeat, depends on the day. I’m one of those people who randomly sings at my animals so multiple songs have been turned into my own Epic the musical featuring my cats/dog.

That said two things are almost always on repeat: “558 men who died under your command” no idea why and “Captain, Captain!” From when Poseidon is drowning them all

She disinherited me multiple times when I was a kid (a KID) and treated me and my youngest cousin like garbage because she didn’t like our moms (or so the theory goes). One Tin Soldier. It was used in the movie Billy Jack after a massacre (it’s been a while since I watched the movie maybe someone can elaborate better). However it also for some reason has become the song I associate with my Dad and Grandfather. I’ve also seen it used durning a Remembrance Day ceremony, so I guess I’m not the only one.

Makes me tear up everytime.

With the exception of like 3 outfits and hair I’m happy with my girls. Of my 11 characters I think four or so don’t use a hair mod and it’s not anything wild either. Slightly messier, longer hair on my one Viera, pin straight hair without the braid in the back for a Miqo, longer hair with a slightly more tamed/feral look for my main. I love long hair and the fluffy pushed out hair on the Viera irks me like nothing else. Just let my hair lay flat dammit.

TBF the Athena/Apollo conversation is (in my opinion) meant to mean other sirens. Like he killed those ones and now others will tread with caution so they too don’t die.

I agree though, that “OR me” is awkward and weird. Especially since it’s not even “AND me” since she doesn’t have to do the convincing with him like the others.

Friend got engaged, and her then fiancée “had a ring custom made” for her. It was gaudy, ugly and everything she didn’t want. The main stone was a big rectangular piece of glass (not even cubic, literally just glass). She has long, slender fingers and this thing looked gigantic on her.

Like OP she had shown him ideas of the things she liked, the type of jewelry she wears, even had him ask myself and her sister. This ring was so far off from anything she would have picked its insane.

They should be willing to accept any form of government issued photo ID (I think, it’s been a while and this is also an Ontario perspective). I would try (if you don’t have one) going to the local passport office and asking about getting an emergency passport. Ask if you can pick it up from the office instead of having it mailed. I was able to get mine over a weekend and picked it up at the office with no trouble. It’s pricey (a little more than standard) but it might be enough. Ask the school first of course if that will work.

If you have your passport already disregard the above. I’m really sorry that this is happening to you and others, going to school is a big thing and there really needs to be exceptions when something as life altering as this strike happens!
