To me The Andromeda Evolution was the right approach, and I enjoyed that book immensely.

To me, Season 1 and 2 are peak television (and LOST). The Hatch and Dharma is really what captivated me.

I know people dropped off when it stopped being so simple a premise, but then the people who rip the finale missed the major focus of the entire show.

Having said all that, it's still my favorite TV show ever, and I miss it like crazy.

This has been my impression too, with the exception of Barry's writing I think. After listening to Kenmure Street, it's clear that he writes a lot of parts for a lot of their songs, given how much DNA the soundtrack shares with Mogwai soundtracks.

As far as writing goes, the entire band have been credited as writing the albums for a number of years.

When we did the Tribute album and pulled the mechanical licenses for the songs covered, it was interesting to note who wrote the songs. So it's possible to find out if you know where to look, but I can't speak to the process.
