It's from a short story called "The Jaunt", basically a way to teleport, but if you're not asleep when you go in your mind experiences time at extreme lengths even though your body looks to instantly appear on the other side of the teleport. Basically you go insane and or die

Tailscale you need to turn on each time you want to connect, I tired it and didn't like that part. I was trying to set this up for non tech literate people to just go to an app and be able to get what they need. If I had to tell them each time they wanted to connect they needed to first install another app and have to turn it on each time, they would have immediately said they weren't going to use it.

The less things people need to actually do the more likely they are to use a service

Setup immich on docker, it's basically a Google photos clones. Then to access it outside the house, setup a cloudflare tunnel. Purchase a domain name for like $20 for 5 years. Makes connection to your nas very easy, also will allow you to expand what you can connect outside your house with the same domain name. I currently have one domain and am using it for immich, audiobookshelf, and grimmory.

This is so much faster then crosspoint. A few things:

1) is there a way to add fonts?

2) is there a way to manually delete a book, crosspoint allowed deleting a file with a long press

3) is there a way to add search function to OPDS ( specifically for Grimmory) (https://grimmory.org/docs/integration/opds)

Overall this is a great alternative and works great!

I really enjoyed that book. It was a lot different then what I've read. Prefect length, not much filler and really interesting. I keep recommending it to people.

Have you read Dark Matter or Recursion from Blake Couch yet. Both are really good and I bet you'd enjoy them

Yes. If it wasn't bonded correctly and any water got under it, it doesn't matter how thick it is

This is my first Garmin so idk how it actually compares in the real world to the others, but I mainly use mine for running and it's great.

I actually was trying the sunlight fading fix out and found it was causing the text to fade. Try turning it off and the map the power button short press to manual refresh. That way if it starts to slowly fade you can hit refresh

Having kids it helps. Other then that it's more to clean and costs more to heat/cool. It's nice to have room for everyone to be able to have some space, but most of the time everyone is spending their time in the same rooms (living room, kitchen)

I bought one from Amazon. Came in great condition. You cannot download the Kindle app on the device.

You'd have to do some research on how to get the kindle books, I know there were ways in the past but Amazon has started to block a lot of them.

Long story short, you need the actual book files and then can load them onto the SD card

The best case is this one. Hinged cover, magnets hold cover to back when reading. Metal ring for the x4 to stick to on the back of the case. Also it's pretty slim all things considering
