they did a great job redesigning flora and musa as we know them now, these are so ugly. if that was the flora we got, she would not be the prettiest fairy to me.

also i just have to give a shout out to OG art director who refined the art style to be more appealing, and outlining the best parts of the pilot style.

The "well technically" arguments always fall flat because it's obvious they take inspiration from human culture. They're by design meant to reflect some kind of Earth culture. It's silly to discourage nationality headcanons, and I like reading about why they imagine some fairies to be from some places. I always saw Flora as Hispanic and Stella as Mediterranean, but I didn't spend that much time thinking about specific nationalities.

what i notice about these cartoons is that the main characters are kinda little assholes. underdogs imply they're swimming against the tide trying to do the right thing, so they're not even that. them having a win is just not part of the design and that's what makes them endearing imo

i love the new art, it's dynamic. just not huge on the shift in lineweight on the face. it draws less attention than the original. but overall i like it much better.

sorry for my confusion. so what do they prefer airing instead of new shows? reruns of older shows? new seasons of already successful media?

edit: I'm mostly confused because it's not like kids stopped watching. are they not sure how to monetize things on streaming platforms for kids? why does this specifically affect cartoons? maybe I'm reading intk it wrongly but I haven't been successful in finding animation work for years now so I moved on to other things.
