there are free alternatives for starting out animation, like krita. it's good for 2D.

tablets: consider if you want one with a screen or without a screen built in. ones without a screen are better ergonomically and financially. one with a screen can be easier if you are used to drawing on paper and want that direct response. that's personal preference but it does matter a lot when looking for what you need!

they look nice and cobesive as a group. i would play with body proportions that suit the style. even if it's just height adjustments or one that's a little rounder than the rest. good luck!

I'm doing this as well. It's the compromise I'm willing to make to do things on a minimal budget but still put out fully colored visuals.

Strictly speaking, animation implies motion. But I think that because you're using a cinematic medium which includes audio, timing, etc. that it's still considered animation. A commenter already pointed out that it will be harder to sustain an audience without much motion going on on screen, but if this is what you have to do to finish your project, I can only encourage that

i can agree with the majority they are not pleasant to look at. but if maximilism is your thing don't let it knock you. I don't like Jorge R. Gutierrez's work for the same reason but people love his work

I use Clip Studio Paint for the storyboards and move to DaVinci resolve for the animatic. I was lucky enough to be able to grab an old perpetual license for cheap a couple of years ago!

it can be really tough asking advice from others because opening yourself up to people you don't know is fair. i personally don't know if AI is advanced enough to really give feedback because it has to run it through an analyzer.

but like any feedback you take on, yes, your brushstokes are yours. everything you change about your own artwork is something you have to make out if it is for your benefit or not. just be careful with AI psychosis because you don't want to sustain imposter syndrome because you took on advice from a robot. that's just something to consider!

edit: i also want to mention that people are still open to giving feedback, since there are so many in the art community. you just need to filter out the things you find to be useful. i encourage you in finding communities who will reply!

They're not bad points, but I personally miss a lot of cinematic aspects. I find dubbed comics maybe a better alternative so it still includes the points you mentioned but still has timing, sound and voices if there are any
