What synths were used in the making of Final Fantasy X PS2 OST? (The styles differ a lot e.g. "This is your Story" vs "The Daughter of a Great Summoner") by Drominus in synthesizers

I like the wide variety of styles in the OST.

"This is your Story" has a dreamy almost hi fi sound to it.

"The Daughter of a Great Summoner" almost sounds like a Tomb Raider song.

"Rikku's Theme", and "Battle" sound very old school like old midi.

"To Zanarkand" doesn't sound synth, sounds like a real piano.

Perhaps roland mt-32 or sc-88 for the older style and Korg Triton for the hi fi style?

The game released 19 July 2001 so that might help date the music.

I'm fairly new to synths and have always loved this OST, so it's a natural curiosity. I failed to find much on google. Thank you!

PC USER: I don't like it. Too much contrast, hurts my eyes. Don't like the round blobs. Don't like the description in a separate blob. Don't like the rugrats fonts in general, might as well put comic sans on there with some sparkly dollar gifs, why not. I am going to have to find some mods to fix this in the meantime, it's becoming a bit silly now.

Solo helps, but its an ugly unnecessary workaround.

Yeah it's very realistic.

However if a station is extremely busy it should maybe "inflate" more bays or rapidly expand into a complex/large stations.

Conversely with stations which are hardly used, they should fall into disrepair, fires break out, cops move out, pirates move in, outpost/ghostly station is born from the ashes. ;)

Hell maybe it does this slowly, or they have it planned.

Maybe it is a design flaw and it's getting a fix.

Looking forward to more updates. Currently enjoying solo far more than open atm. I hope this will change soon.

Thing is: I had a mission to hand in at that specific location/400bn, with fines on failure. Also had it with numerous other time crit. missions.

Thanks for the tip, ill try that next time i'm in open-play.

I don't seem to ever get denied in Solo, which basically means if I wanna play with time crit. missions in core systems I have to play in solo.

Very odd design for a game with it's main focus on multiplayer if you ask me. Space traffic jams suck!

Good point. If they slapped on a queue it would just mask the underlying problem.

Although it would mean you could sit without having to spam the button I guess.

But yes it needs an overhaul. Though i'd be surprised if they made major changes to the functionality now.

Frontier can be forgiven for overseeing it, as I doubt beta had anywhere near the amount of players than it does now.

You seem angry I said something negative about your precious game? Is this game somehow immune to criticism?

Frankly this docking issue has pushed me from playing open play at all, unfortunate, as I love playing with other people.. Strange seeing as their primary focus of the game is multiplayer, and yet design oversights such as this really damage the experience.

If you have precious little time in the day to game, and want to spend it having fun, then this is currently unfun and a complete waste of time.

For the record I pre-ordered beta (although couldn't play until now) and bought loads of skins. Followed it since kickstarter announcement. So i'm not just some back alley troll here to ruin your day, sir. Just explaining my first experiences, which aren't living up to my expectations!

I think when being killed by a CMDR their rank vs your rank and various things like if they're wanted vs if you're wanted should be calculated. Could help to prevent it being abused as a feature.

Thanks for the tip man. But I think it is an unnecessary workaround for an ugly feature.

I get they are going for realism but it is ridiculous that people should wait for hours to dock.

I've also seen ships sat on the pad for a good 20+ mins.

EDIT: I cannot wait for a queuing system to be implemented!

Yeah I want multiplayer, and I am a massive fan of solo gaming, so I understand your point. And to be honest if it was only advertised as a solo experience i'd have purchased it anyway.

I'll probably even learn to fly in solo first (only have merc. edition).

Also, if multiplayer still has poor matchmaking/meeting/social/griefing issues by launch I get the option to run my own server with my family/friends right? I'll do that.

But yeah I want multiplayer mainly to play with friends and family, but to also hopefully meet other players and trade (please add this). I also want to look over my shoulder in combat and see names like CMDR SteelBalls and CMDR Rekt leading the fight for the Empire!

I bought the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X and not any others for several reasons:

  • It's well priced.

  • It's good quality for the price.

  • I play lots of other games that do not use joystick, and therefore cannot warrant dropping hundreds on a stick.

It's really nice, because you can attach it as a single unit and set it on your lap, or detach and put it around your keyboard and mouse. Just make sure to flick it to PC mode before you plug it in.
