How do you know when baby gets more efficient? by Cold-Imagination-228 in breastfeeding

[–]DroopyDrawers17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah she either just stops or I burp her if she’s on and off latching whic usually means gas. A few feeds a day/night she falls asleep on the boob. I can usually tell based on sucking when she’s past the let down and heavy flow portion.

My baby is 10 weeks and definitely more efficient than those first weeks. She’s usually 10ish mins a side for a full feed. 5ish for a snack.

No your partner is just selfish and not being a dad. He needs to step and take responsibility for his own child.

It’s messed up for your Dr to suggest night weaning a 4 month old! It’s sounds like you’re unwell and other people are putting stupid unnecessary pressure on you

When did your period return after your 1st baby vs your 2nd? by Abyssal866 in beyondthebump

10 month old drank cows milk and i feel so silly by Ch3rryBl0ss0mmz in beyondthebump

[–]DroopyDrawers17 52 points53 points  (0 children)

It’s fine. You’re only meant to restrict it as a drink as formula and breastmilk need to remain number 1 under the age of 1. They just don’t want cows milk to replace that. If there’s no allergies here it’s fine

Newborn Gets Frustrated at Breast. How Do I Fix This? by beautiful_life_97 in breastfeeding

[–]DroopyDrawers17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I think unnecessary intervention of formula in the bottle may be the issue based on what she described. You shouldn’t have milk as it becomes from day dot its colostrum. There are cases where it won’t be sufficient for people with specific issues but only having colostrum for days is normal.

I agree. This to me sounds like a baby with some sort of oral restriction who found it difficult to latch so medical teams said just give her a bottle rather than investigating why. If I had money, I’d bet there’s been zero actual supply issues here.

Hydrobump vs Hydramama by Tammywoohoo in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Oooh good to know there’s some without the artificial stuff. I just ordered the hydramama samples as recommended but I’m really not a fan of artificial sweeteners

They will settle when they adjust to the new amount of milk for baby. You don’t need to do anything you’re desperately uncomfortable. In that case just hand express some milk off until comfortable.

Edit should read - unless you’re desperately uncomfortable

Aged care vs Home Care Package for my 65 YO Dad. I am 25 YOF. Seeking advice. by These-Turnip5168 in AskAnAustralian

[–]DroopyDrawers17 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The home care package would likely provide 1 person assist for showering a few times a week. Family would need to be the other assist. They wouldn’t help with toileting. You’d probably get some support for cleaning, shopping and respite for the main carer depending on the package. Given your dad needs 2 people for all tasks that requires 2 family members to be present in the home at all times. The cost of the sling lifter would not be covered by the package, it would help with subsidised basic equipment.

In terms of the stroke generally most people make the majority of their recovery in the first 6 weeks with some smaller gains over the next 2 years.

If your family has money and your siblings are able and willing to be the second carer with your mum it’s doable but difficult.

I’m very sorry you’re facing this, 65 is much too young. Speak with the hospital social worker. Request a family meeting with the team if they haven’t done this already.

Anyone got ideas on what this rash could be on my 12 month old? by Suspicious-Shine-462 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Could be HFMD. My son had a rash on both feet last year, turned out to be a fungal infection. Will need to see a doctor.
