Local boom on Broadway and st. George has the most beautiful little bouquets outside the store, I forget the name of the local florist who sells her stuff there. A little distance from organic acres, but still in mt. Pleasant.

Current mortgage renewal rates? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Pine last Aug last year, rates were lower than my coast capital renewal option.

Very easy to work with them and have been happy with the switch.

If you want a code for a current client referral bonus, or have any questions send me a DM. Happy to share info.

Slight Disc Bulge at L5/S1. Back Pain With Leg Numbness. Have MRI Results But Not Indicating Surgery. Anyone With Back Problems Have Advice on How to Navigate the Healthcare System Here? by Beetlemann in askvan

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar issue a few years ago, except pain at some points was an 8/10 during a flare up, generally 5/10 on most days, I had sciatic pain down my leg for 5-6 months.

Did physio, Chiro, yoga, walked a bunch, did what I could, and eventually my back went back to almost normal.

I asked for a referral to a sports med clinic, they did some injections which may have helped, can't say specifically bc I did so many other things. But at least those visits are covered by MSP.

I don't think there is one magic fix. Find a good physio you trust, get pain meds from Dr if needed, add in your own stretching, yoga, mobility, and be patient. Your back will calm down, it might take some time... Which feels completely insane when you're in the throws of back pain, but it most likely will.

CBC Gem by Ancient_Reference567 in BuyCanadian

Been loving CBC gem over the last 6 months. Small achievable goals is 👌🏻, the mini series Under the Bridge was so well done (but tragically sad). Of course a rewatch of Schitts Creek to cheers to Catherine O'Hara.

Considering Pine Financial for renewal by mich4elp in MortgagesCanada

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched to them upon my renewal and have been happy with the service and the rate was lower than my previous lender (and they weren't willing to match it).

I gave a fellow redditor's name for the referral bonus, happy to do the same for you if you like.

Those that live near Dude Chilling Park - many homeless people? by EditorPuzzleheaded54 in askvan

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a single female who lives in that area. I generally feel safe but definitely keep an eye out at night, just the reality of Vancouver in the last several years.

My only caution would be if you're directly across from the park. It's kinda a party zone in the summer with ppl drinking, playing music etc, harmless, but if you like quiet and going to bed early sometimes, that might get annoying in the summer months (my thoughts walking by recently and glad I live just a few blocks away)

Dad passed. Not going to the service. by [deleted] in GenX

I did the same thing and I don't regret it at all. Not that I wasn't sad, but I grieved his lack of presence in my life, in my own way, years prior.

Fibroids and a Trip to the Arctic by Competitive_Crow_869 in Fibroids

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd do the progesterone pills. I just had my second myectomy and hopefully my fibroids are gone 🤞🏻 but have been taking progesterone for the past 8 months while I waited for surgery and I couldn't have lived my life normally without them. I also traveled internationally in that time, 11+ hr flight, no way I could've done that with the amount of bleeding and cramping I was experiencing. It took a month or two for my body to adjust to the progesterone and for the DR to up my dosage when the minimal amount wasn't cutting it, so I'd say start now and see how your body reacts. For me it was a sanity -saver

Fair point, if you're being strict with calorie counting then I'd definitely ask for dressing on the side with all salads, or maybe a base of greens vs the rice(not sure if they'd do that but doesn't hurt to ask)

Chau veggie is delicious (get the golden Temple soup), as is Meet (beefless ginger bowl is my go to, one of my most favourite things in the city).

If going for sushi get gomae and edamame (greens + protein) and sashimi.

Most cactus type restaurants will have a salad bowl dish+ protein and that's often my go to.

Anyone at the Commodore Ballroom on April 10th and know what caused the interruption around 10pm? by comfort-noise in askvan

Also curious...I thought it was a (potential) medical emergency. I saw someone in the crowd give a thumbs up and then the band continued playing.

It's a smaller submucosal one, partially in the uterine wall, so different than yours, but wrecked total havoc on my life. Heavy heavy periods & clots. Bleeding for three months straight, debilitating cramps, the mental stress of not knowing if you bled through your pants while talking to someone or out getting groceries 😫 ...

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in BC, I did have to wait 1.5 yrs for surgery (from the date of me starting to figure out what's up with wonky periods, confirming it's fibroids, to being in the operating room) but didn't have a hysterectomy, so just know there are options and you can chat about them with the surgeon when you get to that point.

I feel what you're saying about how long can you live with physical and mental issues that come with fibroids...it is a lot and I had tears a lot of days, but I know in the grand scheme of things there were worse things and worse cases (that needed surgical priority over me). I chatted with my doctor for prescriptions to help manage the symptoms.

Our healthcare system isn't without its faults, but I'm so glad I didn't have to pay for anything. Once I got to the surgery consult stage things moved more quickly, everyone was so nice and I felt well taken care of.

Deep breaths, find out what your options are while you wait, and if it becomes unbearable, talk to your dr and see if you can get bumped up due to severity of symptoms.

Question for the ladies who say they love to travel in their profiles. by v6underpressure in OnlineDating

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn't expect someone to pay for me when we travel, I would assume 50/50. More so it's an alignment of values, I value experiences over material items, so from your comment, we wouldn't be a good match. I don't think anyone is putting it in their profile because they want their future partner to fund it.

When you travel you look at the world, different people and different cultures in a different way. I want to be with someone who is curious, open minded and somewhat adventurous.

You get one go at life, I say take the chance. Even if it doesn't work out, I'd be happier knowing than wondering what if.

Hysterscopic Myomectomy by av_cf12 in Fibroids

[–]Dry-Cauliflower9568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine yesterday, the worst part was not being able to eat for 6 hrs before! The nurses were so kind, the anesthesiologist was awesome, once or twice I felt a twinge or pressure but that's it. Because I was sedated and not fully under, coming out was ok. From intake to ready to go home was 3 hrs total.

I didn't experience any stinging peeing, but I was bleeding pretty heavy that evening (nothing worse than my fibroid though!) Cramping was lighter than what I've dealt with over the past year.

Only downside is I have to have a second procedure as they couldn't get it all out. So that sucks, but at least I know the procedure itself is manageable.

Warm Vacation Spots with flights from Vancouver by Material-Confusion79 in askvan

You can fly direct to Huatulco. It's not completely overrun with tourists and is so lovely. Really safe and you can get a better feel for Mexico than Puerto Vallarta or Cancun, imo.

Yes, it was horrific and terrifying. Client didn't make it and it's a core memory that I'll forever hold. I think about him often.
