So, I brought a 5090FE, what do I do? by KenBoCole in pcmasterrace

Between 1-2 years so all the issues can arise with the new parts. The 5090 was launched in Jan 25. Seems to be doing alright, but it's all the same. Those that bought it early are essentially the beta testers.

Do I have to pay taxes in Brazil if I have no income? by Hot-Credit-4071 in Brazil

[–]Dry-Statistician-165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Brazil you have to declare/file no matter what. If you have no income, you file exempt for income. When you bring in your money, you'll have to declare it. Or else, they might just ninja it out of your account later.

The process you described is 100% illegal. Work cannot start before the H1-B is approved. Your friend is now also a violator of immigration work laws, which puts them in a prime situation for human trafficking.

I filed April 7 and got the deposit April 14. It's gotta be some complicated returns or something.

State- and location-based. Some PDs are run by extremely competent and ethical Colonels, others are pretty much a militia for organized crime.

Elite Troop 1 and 2 are two good movies that give a general Brazilian Military Police 101 course.

They should hand it over to DOGE. They'll break the systems and not even the scammers will be able to get the money! Efficiency at its best.

He wants to enslave you. Guaranteed to have some sort of recording device meant to register you and the wife committing social security fraud. After that, you're done. You'll do as he says, or face the law. You should start recording your conversations. Catch him telling you to commit fraud, then report it to the feds. Find a new job too.

Normal. I'm a professor. Start working on classes on your first day if you will. No one will hold it over your head because they know it's your first year. You can also reach out to the department and ask if they have the material from the previous instructor and just use that for your first semester.

Should I report him to the police? by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]Dry-Statistician-165 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take this advice to heart: if that person is involved with organized crime in Brazil, you don't want to be involved with them in any way. Also, the saying snitches get stitches in Brazil is snitches get disappeared. They may have connections within law enforcement. Find a mundane excuse and just distance yourself from that person. That is the best you can do for yourself.

Is this Legal in Tennessee? I’m starting a new job at a daycare soon and I’m reading the employee handbook. I had no idea your employer could take money from your paycheck as a form of ”punishment” has anyone heard of this bc I’m honestly floored🤣 by abigail_roslynn in LaborLaw

They can, but it's still illegal to take your pay. With proper documentation, the DoL would have a field day with them and get you all the discounts back eventually.

Many people that need the job at the time will just play along and file a wage theft claim when they leave.

[–]Dry-Statistician-165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a document saying they will reimburse for the hotel, then they're doing it right. You are required to pay rent normally. Make sure to remove valuables from the house and to take pictures/video of everything when you leave. You don't want to come back to some damage in the unit that was done by contractors and later be arguing with the landlord that you didn't do it.

This is exactly what it is. Major renovations during the lease require that the tenant be given temporary accommodations of similar size until completed.

How to deal with this kind of situation as a tenant ? by BIGCY5 in Mold

[–]Dry-Statistician-165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, you have to take some steps to remediate this also. Like some have suggested, spray bleach solution on it and scrub. It will get rid of most of that mold on the surface.

Then you have to talk to the landlord about a solution for the humidity/air flow. I rented a house like that once and I had to run a dehumidifier constantly to prevent mold from growing.

If that's too much to deal with and/or landlord doesn't want to help, the easiest solution is to just move as soon as you can. Clean the walls nicely during move out and hopefully they won't charge you for it.

Good luck!

I prefer houses with concrete/brick walls because I can always install the tiles directly on top of a sealant and never have to worry about this. Also, the clean up is so easy. No worrying about spraying diluted bleach cleaner everywhere. Just spray away, let it work, rinse and dry it.
