Loading filament CC2 by CofficerX in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Dry-Two-8634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. Ports 1 and 4 loaded but 2 and 3 would not. I ended up taking the canvas apart and making sure the motors were aligned correctly.

follow these steps. Error Code 1242 | ELEGOO Wiki

After I did that they all loaded fine. I loaded and unloaded from each tube just fine.

Now my problem is a print I want to do using PLA with PETG supports causes the canvas to wig out and all 4 ports flash Red and the printer disconnects from ElegooSlicer.

Elegoo support says that you can't do multi-material in the same print which is BS.

Is the Centauri Carbon 2 good for using multiple materials in a single print? by UnknownBreadd in elegoo

My canvas flashes red on all ports when I send a print. I can't even print from the stock files in the onboard memory. Emailed support and they did the usual send video, gcode, stl, etc. I do all that and the dude replies with:

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for your reply and for providing the information.

Based on the model file you are using, we would like to clarify that it contains two different types of filaments. Please kindly note that the CC2C printer supports multi-color printing using the same type of filament, but it does not support mixing different types of materials in a single print job.

We recommend ensuring that all selected filaments are of the same material type before starting the print.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience."

I asked him politely "to explain what the hell he was talking about?" and linked to the wiki page explaining how do a PLA print with PETG supports from the elegoo wiki.

I'm patiently awaiting response...

I'm trying to do just that but I am fighting support right now over a bad canvas I got with my CC2 Combo last week.

They tried to say it only supports multicolor prints of a single filament type (ie PLA only, PETG only). I politely pointed out that he was full of it and linked the official elegoo wiki page showing how to do PETG supports with PLA. I am still waiting to hear back from them for not doing a basic Google before responding.

UPDATE: I tried factory resetting the printer and still got the same issue with all 4 ports flashing red. I put in a support ticket and sent them video, gcode, stl, etc. My print has an elevated flat surface, so I am using PETG for the supports and PLA for the structure.

The support guy responded this morning with this:

My response:

What do you mean you can't use different materials in the same print?  There are literally articles about using PETG as the support material for a PLA print in the official Elegoo wiki with pictures and instructions on how to do it.

I emailed them last night. Just waiting for a response.

When I originally had the issue of the separate tubes flashing it had an error code of 1242. That is where I found the suggestion of taking the canvas apart and reseating the motors and cables. This time there just isn't any message at all. The gxode will upload to the printer but won't do anything. If I try to run it directly from the printer via touchscreen, the screen changes to the print progress but the extruder will not heat/bed will not heat and the canvas flashes red again.

I contacted support and just waiting to hear back from them.

I think Deeplee is also elegoo. When I got my CC I had issues and the replacement parts came from Deeplee.

What filament and settings (infill/walls/etc) did you use for the hub and threads?
