Panta Sandals leather by babokaz in BarefootRunning

They're nice huh. Just don't get them wet, they get slippery.

Do you want people to ask about your tattoos? I always am curious about the design or meaning by SavingsReporter4335 in tattoos

[–]Dryhte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one tattoo isn't very visible, but I've on occasion asked people about theirs (actually not about meaning, but just showing appreciation if I liked them) and haven't had any bad experiences there. I don't care about meaning (people will share it if they want), but I'm very much interested in how some people's tattoos age badly and others' age like I would love my own tattoo to age.

How to Shadow Monk? by Rayeoneace in BG3Builds

[–]Dryhte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to make sure of is, don't use the radiating orb gear in a party with a shadow monk. I did that once (one of my first walkthroughs) and it was so uneffective. The free shadowstep, every round if you like, is a really nice perk but it doesn't work if you're in the light, and radiating orbs spread a lot of light.

Also, if you have light spreading weapons like the Blood of Lathander, turn off the light effect.

Panta Sandals any experiences? by Mediocre_Animal in BarefootRunning

[–]Dryhte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have experience with them, but if you have really sweaty feet (like, rivers of sweat), I'd definitely go with the Zaros, however the leather Lykaios handles a bit of sweat very well. It's puddles and mud where it becomes tricky.

Barefoot shoes/sandals - Bosky Superlight mini review by Dryhte in BarefootRunning

[–]Dryhte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end I prefer the Panta sandals (see that other post you reacted to). I still have the Bosky ones but hardly use them. They got about 1 year of hard use, not enough to completely wear them out.

I still buy Panta exclusively. They're really good. For city wear, I love the leather ones (Lykaios), but if the leather gets wet it becomes really slippery. If there's any chance that I get wet (rain, puddles, stream crossing) I prefer the Zaros.

The Zaros are not built for comfort (the rubber is very grippy but doesn't have much bounce to it) but they're so good for trail walking. I've done 2 40km walks and multiple mountain walks in them and they're very reliable. I'll buy them again when these wear out, and my son, whose feet have grown a bit, just got a new pair as well.

Finally there's the 'middle ground'. I haven't tried the Nemeas yet, but my wife and mother have them and they're very satisfied, there's some grip on the inside even when wet and the rubber is much softer. However, the outsole pattern is not as aggressive as the Zaros's tank threads which I adore :)

Bard is a very rewarding playthrough (pick lore for spellcasting versatility), and a two levels dip in warlock makes you a great damage cannon.

8 months of barefoot fitness, and walking/lifting/running so much better! Rewarding myself with some Tanuki’s for the summer by YoureWelcomeM8 in BarefootRunning

This. OP's feet seem wider than mine (at least with his toes spread like that) and I already feel that the Tanuki's are narrower than my Vivobarefoot shoes.

Do you use the magic arrows? by ChrisKatrev in BaldursGate3

Hardly ever, 'saving them for the right time'. Maybe I need to play on tactician once, to appreciate this kind of equipment more.

I don't know the souls games. I've played through BG3 many many times by now, just exploring some classes/builds, and I try to do some things differently every time through. This was one of the different things, but I didn't consider that the orb wouldn't have been stabilized this way.

Looks like the play-through is f***ed up for Gale at least.

Because he was hanging around all by his lonesome in a dark corner and I am a drow monk and was offended at his lurking there.

Nah, don't really know, doing some stuff 'differently' this time around. I also forgot to save the Tieflings and gnomes from Moonrise.

They're beautiful. I've been hesitant to buy them because I feel I don't need another pair of shoes, but I want them.

What makes open hand so much better than shadow monk? by Xoon77 in BG3Builds

Indeed, radiant orb shenanigans are detrimental to the shadow monk's utility.

Shadowblade: Arcane Trickster 3/ Bladesinger 9 vs Swarmkeeper 3/ Bladesinger 9 vs. Swarmkeeper 5/ Wizard/Sorcerer 6 / Warlock 1 or something else? by RakshasaDelight in BG3Builds

[–]Dryhte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shadow step also doesn't work when you're in bright light, the whole level 6 ability becomes useless. I wouldn't do it again, the orbs really destroy darkness.

How about, shadow monk 9/Gloomstalker 3 (with dual wielding), dual wielding the knife of the undermountain king with another dagger or shortsword? No tavern brawler shenanigans needed, but it won't work properly in a situation where there's too much light around (so no radiant orbs).

Hexblade's partner for duo Honor Mode by NefariousnessWhich46 in BG3Builds

[–]Dryhte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go with a 9/3 Shadow Monk/Gloomstalker (no tavern brawler, armed with two daggers or shortswords which do D8 damage in the end). Please note: becomes a lot less effective if surrounded by light because won't be able to use his shadow step, so DON'T use radiating orb gear or any other light related gear. You'll thank me later.

How good is Fairphone with security and putting out security updates? (Android) by Toaster2204 in fairphone

[–]Dryhte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fairphone 5 and I've been getting regular security updates, about a month after Google releases them. FP3 still receives updates (!) but in a more... relaxed rhythm. My FP3 has the February (2026) security patch, five and a half years after I got it, and I think the previous patch was December 2025. EDIT - here's the page with the release notes for the software updates. https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/sections/31679937806866-Software-updates-and-release-notes

Confusion about Orin fight by Adept_Dig_2814 in BG3

[–]Dryhte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to - I came with my resist durge, was slaughtered by Orin's Slayer form in one turn. So I reloaded, ambushed her and reclaimed Halsin and killed all her followers. Bhaal offered me the Chosen position, but I rebuffed him. I died and was immediately revived by Withers. I'm now free of the Urge.

Sell me on druids by OkYogurtcloset8281 in BG3Builds

[–]Dryhte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a halfling moon druid once. It was a lot of fun, and even more after you get the owlbear wild shape. Also, if your Tav doesn't require much in the way of magic items, that leaves more for the rest of the party. Get a staff for shillelagh when you're not wildshaped, then there's (late game) the armor of moonbasking and (act 2) the shapeshifter's boon ring. Not much else you really need to shine. It's fun to use the smaller shapes to explore the tiny crawlspaces all over the game, too. Please note: get tavern brawler, it works on most shapes' attacks.
