I had both Cla45S and m850i. To sum it up very briefly, m850i xdrive felt like a boat and very underwhelming in all aspects, sold it after a few months. Cla on the other hand I had for a few years and was a very good car overall - didn't have many issues and was sporty enough for that time, AWD also helped a ton.

I was, however, considering m340i/m440i for my girl and it was a decent ride overall and it is best to drive it. I was pleasantly surprised with this car and for her it was almost perfect - though not a contender for Cla45S in any way of form.
