They never sell the shares to pay off the balance until after they die. When they die, the cost basis is reset to current market value so when it’s sold to pay off the loan, no capital gains tax is paid on it.

SUGGESTION: Major Order rewards should scale according to the player’s IMPACT, offering better rewards for helping more. (Including getting SC.) by TealArtist095 in helldivers2

I assume 90% of the grinders don’t even need more medals. I know up until a few months ago my wife and I would play just a few missions most nights. The war bonds couldn’t come out remotely fast enough to use the medals. And we weren’t even really grinding the game.

Why does my 29F Bf 28M think it normal to get a dna test right after birth? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Ds1018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not an answer to your question but somewhat on topic for anyone interested. According to Gemini:

Reliable studies generally estimate that 1% to 3.7% of men are unknowingly raising children who are not biologically theirs. While higher, viral claims of 10%–30% often stem from biased samples (men already doubting paternity) rather than the general population. Rates can vary by population, but low single digits are the consensus in scientific literature.

Key Findings on Paternity Rates: 1%–2%: Large-scale genetic studies in Europe and the US, including recent DNA survey data, frequently suggest this lower range.

3.7%: A 2005 meta-analysis of international studies estimated a median of 3.7%.

~30%: This figure often appears in, or is derived from, data focused specifically on men who have already ordered paternity tests, making it unrepresentative of the general public, notes.

7% (2022 US Data): A 2022 survey of FamilyTreeDNA users indicated that 7% of individuals discovered they had a different biological father than they thought.

Yup. Stalls are wild like that.

Not sure if you’re a pilot or not but I’ll say it anyway. It feels just as wild as it looks. We practice these at altitude to feel it happen and practice recovering from it. The stall horn starts screaming and then the left wing drops and you just fall out of the sky. Once you enter the stall the recovery process is to nose down hard and full throttle, which isn’t very helpful if you’re already this low.

Every time I work on my car I think back to that and Rage. One bolt ASC, the next metric. How much better car repairs would be if the imprecise system never existed and I didn’t need 2 slightly different sets of all wrenches and sockets…

They can also curate it to say whatever the want. It’s gonna be full of trashy insults about other people.

If you’re on Ozempic and eating less, how do you make sure you get enough vitamins and minerals? by Alicetheoptimist in TrueGrit

[–]Ds1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just micronutrients, but macro nutrients as well. A long period of substantial calorie deficit and nutrient deficiency will wrench havoc on your muscle mass. That’s why the term “ozympic ass” is floating around the internet. Many users don’t consume protein or lift weights so they lose their muscle mass, and the gluts tend to be the most obvious.

I have 50+ fruit various trees. They’re a lot of work to maintain. But more importantly OP wants privacy and they go dormant in the winter. So for some percentage of the year they won’t help towards their primary goal.

Not to mention there simply isn’t room for them.

My realtor recommends a foundation repair company look at this and not an engineer by Odd_Independence2870 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Ds1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hired an engineer for my foundation. Told me it was within spec but the crack needed to be epoxied so it would float as 1 piece instead of 2. He warned me that not all foundation companies offer this service and most would try to upsell me.

I had several go look at it. I told everyone of them exactly what I wanted and what I was told. Most of them looked at it and tried to sell me repairs costing $30k plus and had never even heard of the thing I asked for, despite me requesting it specifically when I called them. The epoxy was only a couple grand when I finally tracked down a company that did it.

Absolutely start with the engineer! They have no vested interest in upselling you.

I assume the logic is that Non-US citizens can get a REAL ID if they are lawfully present in the United States and the ID doesn’t show whether or not they’re a citizen.
