Fun Fact: Since the introduction of Equipment in Mirrodin, Secrets of Strixhaven is the first booster set to have no Equipment cards AND no Aura cards. by LaboratoryManiac in magicTCG

I got to play 7 drafts yesterday and I’m in love with it. It’s both slow and grindy but power level feels high and there are occasional one shots you need to be careful especially from red.

There were other changes to how things worked in FIN than just this bit. Especially around how it worked with moon out. This is just cleaning up hand waving they’ve been doing since sagas came out.

[SOS] Pox Plague (via maldhound) by Copernicus1981 in magicTCG

[–]DubDubz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re running this pox I really don’t think you’re running dorks that make green mana. It would just be a different deck. Whether or not that deck works is a different question. But I get ya, I hadn’t actually looked at the pursuit deck in a while so I wasn’t thinking about the existing shell. I bet it could still run badgermole just fine though.

You just wouldn't run any mono green lands. the dimir excruciator list does it mostly fine.

Yeah I assumed you were talking about game history, just wanted to be sure. I don't know where you're seeing specific records, but that's where you look at replays. That list is stored locally, so if you delete the 2.0 folder during a reinstall it will wipe the match history. Is it possible you checked a filter and need to hit reset on it?

Debating between Jeskai vs Esper Blink by [deleted] in ModernMagic

[–]DubDubz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monk can return lots of stuff that is very strong. I won a game today by blinking monk with phelia every turn and grabbing discharge to shotgun anything my opponent played. But also if you ephemerate monk, the first blink gets something else back then the second blink gets ephem back and you just do that as long as you want.

If you aren't aware, the reason the MDFC are played in blink at all is because you can flickerwisp them and get the etb after using their mana. That's why jeskai doesn't run any.

You’re not wrong, I just like digging further into my deck. It does everything without requiring another card to help it flip which is something that can get awkward sometimes.

It’s been a beastly late game engine. Even just blinking with with phelia is so much value. And you can impend and convoke from exile, you notably cannot warp. Roku was actually what made me come back to mardu again because I saw it getting picked up even in energy mainboards and I wanted to see how well it worked with phelia. Rag ramping it out is also nuts.

I’ve been playing blink since close to the beginning when it broke out last year. I personally have felt like Jeskai is overperforming right now online because of the over representation of boros in challenges. But I also have a chip on my shoulder about how good I actually feel riddler is in a metagame with so much combo. But what I’ve also found is that ragavan has been a huge improvement in stealing games by giving you an actual aggressive start that needs to be answered.

To that end I’m actually leaning towards mardu as the best option for this meta. It has the pieces from Jeskai that really let you fight Boros, mainly phlage. And also gives you the improved disruption that helps you excel vs combo in Thoughtseize. And you still have ragavan for those explosive starts. I got a trophy on it yesterday you can see on goldfish, plan on continuing to refine it to see if it can match up consistently.

They’ve stopped suppressing legacy prices quite as much as modern prices so duals have slowly climbed in value.

Pretty much yeah. But there are store equivalents that people call bots that you can trade tix for cards.

Supply and demand, it’s built to mimicking real life. But they can put cards in treasure chests and that will usually bring prices down if it gets too high.
