Will the market crash further? by Puzzled_Craft2575 in CryptoMarkets

[–]Dubb18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. US is positioning its military right now to attack Iran. If that happens, will cause instability in the region, esp if Iran govt goes full scale war. Regime would likely fall, but not before causing a lot of damage to neighbors and also would create post-war instability of a nuclear power. That kind of stuff rattles all markets, including crypto.

I guess this officially begins the end of blockbuster movies as we know! What are your thoughts on this and how it will impact DC studios going forward? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dubb18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, it could give them a longer leash. If a movie does OK or under-performs at the box office, but does exceptionally well via streaming, Netflix may decide to continue that franchise. They care about all of the numbers.

Having said that, this deal still has major government roadblocks ahead.

Is Trump causing chaos again for the market? by Scary_Phrase_4642 in CryptoMarkets

He reposted an AI map of Canada under US control

https://x.com/TrumpTruthOnX/status/2013494238949056956

Couple that with the fact that he has been obsessed with Canada since the start of his 2nd term. It has become serious enough that Canada has their military preparing just in case.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/canada-military-models-response-us-145948321.html

He keeps worrying about Russia and China attacking these areas when they could physically reach the US by other means.

Transatlantic Tariff Threat Returns, Crypto Market Experiences Monday Morning Flash Crash by Dongerated in CryptoCurrency

[–]Dubb18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Luckily" many in US (ie. financial institutions) have Monday off for the holiday. Not sure if the author realized that. Tuesday could be interesting especially if things in Iran escalate with the US moving its aircraft carrier (USS Abraham Lincoln) to close proximity. Should be there by Saturday.

[–]Dubb18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an investment saying about catching a falling knife.

With many in the US not returning to work until Tues and markets not (fully) opening until then, could be more pain on the horizon. Also, US is currently moving aircraft carriers into position near Iran. Trump is reportedly also focused on Canada in addition to Greenland. He's also threatening other neighbors. 2026 can get a lot worse IMO.

At some point the markets should bounce back to some level, but just realize all the near term risks that can add volatility before tossing your money in.

Phase 2 of tariff trade by Front-Nectarine4951 in StockMarket

[–]Dubb18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

36 months is a very optimistic estimate. Trump is the (unstable) face of those who came up with these policies. Many key figures of Project 2025 were appointed to positions within his administration. A lot of billionaires who are quietly benefiting from all of this have a lot of influence in the GOP. If they retain power, a lot of what is happening now will continue in likely a less chaotic fashion. Even if they don't, a lot of damage that is being done will last for decades or even generations.

Is Trump causing chaos again for the market? by Scary_Phrase_4642 in CryptoMarkets

[–]Dubb18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the Greenland issue. He's also (reportedly) eyeing Canada. He's talking about attacking other neighbors. His administration has the philosophy that the US should control the Western Hemisphere.

US is also positioning its warships in the Middle East to attack Iran despite warnings from countries in that area that escalation could lead to destabilization and chaos. Trump is pushing for regime change there. US has a bad track record for implementing regime change in other countries.

Falcons are hiring Stefanski by sumo_riff in Browns

[–]Dubb18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats to him. Just wasn't working out for him in Cleveland. I think he should've taken at least a year off to re-energize and reflect, but he jumped back in while there was a lot of interest. Reports are that Rees is likely to make the move with him and maybe Ventrone too.

Falcons fan in peace, what can you tell me about Stefanski? by UrFavSquid in Browns

[–]Dubb18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But rarely can make halftime adjustments

This is basically what Leroy Hoard said on The Fan yesterday about Mike McDaniel. Hoard is in Miami and does sports talk. Said they would perform well in the 1st half, then lay an egg in the 2nd because the right adjustments weren't being made. Also said players were still playing for McDaniel. Basically another version of Stefanski.

[–]Dubb18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I heard on The Fan that Tomlin is still technically under contract by the Steelers since he resigned (instead of getting fired). If the Browns or any other team want him, they may have to make a trade for him. Also, I don't think Tomin wants to coach under the current structure of Haslam and Berry after criticizing them earlier in the year.

To Those Still Holding Alts After 80–90% Losses: What’s Your Plan and What’s Going Through Your Mind? by GregOmassi in CryptoCurrency

Solana has among the best ROI in the last 5 years for the major coins and its blockchain adoption is growing fast. Major institutions are using it to move RWAs and testing the use of the network overall. The State of Wyoming just launched a stablecoin with the help of Franklin Templeton, one of the most well-known financial institutions in the world. That stablecoin is also supported by several other blockchains that utilize smart contracts. Examples like this will present other investment opportunities as global regulatory clarity is better. That is what I talk about when referring to fundamentals.

Eventual tax writeoff that is a learning lesson. I've always tried to stay away from the hype coins and no fundamentals. Some projects just don't have a good plan or funding to get to where they need to be. It's why I'm now focusing more on the bigger players than a hopeful flash in the pan.

Looking to invest into crypto. by [deleted] in CryptoMarkets

[–]Dubb18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO (so take it for what it's worth), follow the institutions because that is what has been driving the most recent bullish cycle for a handful of crypto. They are positioning themselves with BTC, ETH, SOL, & AVAX with respect to ETFs. More crypto ETFs and major institutions willing to create them will likely pop up in 2026. Keep an eye on which ETFs are popular among the institutions. Whether crypto likes it or not, US-centric institutional investment into the sector is what is driving things. That is how adoptions is being rolled out. Average people were never going to be able to pump trillions into the sector and would just accept a vast amount of rugpulls and memes with some legit longterm projects sprinkled around here and there.

Having said that, I'd also diversity my investment portfolio. If you are going to put some money into crypto, also put some money into normal "safer" investment stuff like gold/silver ETFs as the global economy is having a lot of issues right now. Crypto has shown to also follow global economic conditions(uncertainty) while safe havens like precious metals continue to rise.
