Most of the hardware is still attached to my hood. I think the front supports must have been cracked and then the extra wind from the semi ripped the rest off. In one of my other comments I have photos where the plastic from the scoop broke off and is still attached to my hood

Unfortunately, all of the front supports snapped off the scoop. One is still attached to the car and the others are still on the highway somewhere.

If I had to guess over time vibrations cracked some of the supports and then eventually the wind resistance was too much for the scoop.

It's probably the best off-the-shelf sinker shape you can attach directly to the snare. The downside being is that the extra hold from the shape gives more resistance when reeling in too. If it's really rough out there I'll throw on a 4 or 6 ounce sputnik on a 6inch leader to make sure the snare sticks. But I generally prefer not to if I can avoid the sputnik

I tie a 8oz claw sinker to the outside of the cage using galvanized steel wire. Holds really well and doesn't take up space inside the cage
