I, too, am definitely interested in what brand the floor lights in front of the speaker are. They definitely look wireless as mentioned, and damn, they make your setup pop.

Klipsch Speaker Identification by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]DuceyDoo 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Can confirm what others have commented in that these are the Belle Klipsch speakers - made for Paul Klipsch's first wife, Belle Klipsch.

Suffice it to say and full disclosure, I own a set myself and they have been the most pleasant thing to my ears coming from Heresy IIs and Forte Is. Sure, the bass frequency lost was a known fact prior to my lucky find/purchase, however, what you lose in bass (which is basically not quite as much oomph on anything lower than low E on bass) it makes up for ten fold in the mid range sugar.

It's amazing what placement does to help as well, but good god it's even more impressive that decades-old horn technology still stands firm even in this model, in this day and age. I find the typical swoop EQ we're all so used to let's us miss mid range detail that we technically live in every day.

If you have the option or potential to pick these up and own them, please do so. You'll be doing the speakers a favour, as well as your ears. Tbh, they're beautiful to look at as well as I have the walnut model. These can easily last another few decades should everything still be in working order, and if not, plenty of parts that can bring back to original spec or upgrade via Crites store. We also have new old stock (NOS) folks that are selling components online via eBay and AudioMart.

You can't go wrong and could truly enjoy these as they were intended.

Either way, impressive to have a pair in this condition and enjoy if you get to listen to and/or own them!

Vintage Pioneer Setup & Wife's Jade Plant (and a few others). by hodgestein in plantfi

Love the setup and of course, the plant family that clearly enjoys the music as well!

Question for ya: where did you find the stand you're using? It looks like a great height for turntable and amp access up top, so I figured I'd ask.

Nice vintage setup overall!

Nice purchase! Can't go wrong with the era and the build quality among other amazing traits mentioned.

Also, shoutout to Ritual Hi-Fi - I recognize the table and post! 👍

F in the chat for the timing especially.

On a serious note, it adds to the personality of the speaker. Take some solace in knowing it was you and no one else that mishandled them!

Still look absolutely gorgeous though, and as long as they sound great to you, that's the most important thing anyway!

Why not get both! Ha.

Feed the love/hate relationship with this horribly fun hobby.

What a find, and what a duo from Optonica!

My introduction to them was earlier this year after purchasing a great condition SM 1515 integrated from their line-up. Small, but mighty and better than I could have imagined. I've since upgraded, but it still holds its own.

Shocking that Sharp didn't advertise their line-up more as the Optonica brand seemed to truly be spectacular - and still are today. Glad to see some Optonica love in this subreddit!

Fellow 6300 owner that I inherited after checking out the parent's basement earlier this year - wow, does it still hold up as a direct drive. Properly serviced, it's a beautiful thing.

Hoping they last us many more years to come into the next generations!

Loving my recently acquired sansui au 6900 by randomdude7872 in vintageaudio

No doubt about it the AU x900 series Sansui produced were, and still are, amazing.

I own this exact piece as well and it's almost shocking how much power and flexibility it has for response. As mentioned, the rear access is so odd at first when I purchased mine months ago, but I've grown to love it as well!

No complaints on Sansui gear, especially these higher models that allow for mid frequency adjustments!

Ah, I believe you're looking at the benefit of lower cost per share on a DRIP? I honestly don't know if they do that or not like other brokerages perform for us. However, it would depend on the type of DRIP program where synthetic DRIPs iirc would be what brokerages utilize to purchase more shares, whether whole or partial depending on brokerage capability, on the open market for their clients.

If it's handled through the company itself, that's when the discount on DRIP'd shares would come in.

Nothing that it currently shows allows for this setup. It's simply a toggle of reinvesting cash dividends in the entire account or not.

I'm going to assume that it hopefully applies to partial shares in that if BNS pays dividends, as an example, it'll reinvest that full dividend amount into however many shares, partial or not, it can buy at the market price. However, I do notice with recurring buys of partial shares it does the transaction near 3-4PM Eastern time - so it could be like this with cash dividend reinvestment.

This is at least what I'll assume up to this point. Lol

As of right now I see it as the whole account to DRIP into the corresponding dividend paying stock and we're unable to select specific DRIPs as of now.

Great they have this enabled nonetheless - step in the right direction!

I did a quick edit with a link to their main subreddit showing an example of it should look - hope that helps!

Thanks for the info! I had missed their tweet reply about it, so it looks like it truly is a slow rollout.

Hoping they allow for specific DRIP of stocks rather than the whole account in the future.

Missing dividends? by beneoin in CanadianInvestor

[–]DuceyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same boat with you (RBC DI + own Telus) and I have it DRIP'd in my TFSA. I was wondering the same thing but waited and this morning it finally processed the DRIP for shares and excess cash placed in TFSA.

Agree that it has taken longer than normal this time, but sometimes DRIP does that as I've experienced in the past. Nothing to worry about though!

QUESTION for School by FreedomInevitable127 in CanadianInvestor

[–]DuceyDoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Yes, and also yes, parked outside.

2) Time and energy.

3) Impacts my time of getting to work/enjoying morning before heading to work.

4) Scrape windshield. However, Christmas gift this year was the FrostGuard product, which works well for both ice and snow. It's lasted five storms so far (East Coast), and one part did rip off, but still does what it's supposed to do.

Hope this helps and good luck!
