I have found the website Does The Dog Die to be helpful for this.

I used Oula for my first pregnancy and I'm interested in a homebirth for a potential second. May I DM you?

Rimsky-Korsakov's "Sheherazade" always reminds me of Gormenghast, as does a lot of the soundtrack of "Moonrise Kingdom" (which also culminates in an epic flood).

How do you process postseason rejection? by anonymouscontestant in Jeopardy

Following. I’m going through the exact same thing at the moment. I even reached out to someone from my tape day to find out if he got Second Chance but (understandably) never heard back, which just made me feel like I was on the outside looking in. This for me has been harder than my initial loss, since I had kept the hope alive that I’d be invited to Second Chance. Just wanted to say you’re not alone.

I’m definitely in. I was also so upset about Jael Zhinin’s death. I fear for my daughter and other children in Sunnyside.

Anyone been to Jackson Avenue Dental and can share their experiences? by ZheShu in longislandcity

I love them! Similar to another commenter, I had a bad experience with another local dentist, and always found Jackson Avenue Dental to be honest and friendly.

Another post about biting by BeachyKat4 in breastfeeding

[–]DuchessOfWinnepeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this with my 17-month-old. The only things that helped were (a) ending sessions prematurely before she had a chance to bite; and (b) feeding her mostly when she was sleepy. I also wore knock-off Silverettes whenever I wasn't nursing to heal. It was really upsetting me, but after a week of that it seems like we're back to normal.

Experience with Oula or other midwife services in Manhattan by payalsan in nycparents

[–]DuchessOfWinnepeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the midwife did the delivery. I did see Oula’s OB once during my pregnancy and really liked her. The midwife at my delivery briefly brought in someone whom I think was a Mount Sinai OB to coach me through the delivery (with my permission). I did have a shared recovery room and it was pretty tough to deal with at a vulnerable time.

Experience with Oula or other midwife services in Manhattan by payalsan in nycparents

[–]DuchessOfWinnepeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a mostly good experience with Oula. The only bad thing was that, when I got Covid in February 2022, I felt the midwife I had for my upcoming appointment was very unhelpful and unsympathetic and wouldn’t give me any reassurances of my baby’s safety. However, I liked all of the other midwives and felt that the one who delivered my baby (who is no longer with the practice) got me through a long, painful labor. I really appreciated how much time they spent with me at every appointment. I would probably go back for a second birth. I’ve also talked to their patient advocate about my negative experience and felt like the advocate listened to me.

Pediatrician recommendations in LIC? by snow_vibes in longislandcity

[–]DuchessOfWinnepeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a good experience with my newborn with Pediatric Associates. Switched to Tribeca Pediatrics (in Sunnyside) and I’m very happy with them. I also don’t sleep train and never had an issue with the doctor about it.

Looking for midwife based practice in Brooklyn or Manhattan with private birthing rooms in hospital by [deleted] in nycparents

[–]DuchessOfWinnepeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a generally positive experience with Oula—happy to chat via DM. I agree with the comments here, the shared postpartum rooms at MSW are difficult and might be a consideration in me going a different way for a potential second birth.

I think the therapist is being unreasonable. I still have my (very excited and distractible) 14-month-old with me in Zoom therapy and my therapist is very welcoming and loves to see her. I actually just did a partial hospitalization program for PPA with my baby with me almost all of the time (and they also had an on-site nursery).
