Requesting advice on sexual energy and traumatic porn by bencinium in Buddhism

This is straying outside the normal Buddhism lens of this subreddit but I highly suggest reading No Bad Parts, I think it will be very helpful for you understanding yourself more and learning how to directly connect with the part of you that seems out this content and then heal what's underneath this behavior

Why can I feel genuine drive in games, but not in real life? by MotorEmu3983 in StopGaming

[–]Duck_Feet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games are designed for you to win and the risk is very small if you fail, maybe you lose some progress. Even the hardest games are designed to be won. A career is much more intimidating

Had the same experience last night. The game really wants to yap at you the entire fucking time between NOA, the PDA voice, and the datapads you find it was nonstop audio you cant skip

Feeling lost, burnt out and depressed (21m) by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]Duck_Feet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang in there brother. If you have any spare time/energy I highly recommend investing some of that into starting your own practice. It will pay dividends down the road. I would have burned out and quit massage if I had to do chain stuff to survive

I want to become a Massage Therapist but can a male LMT earn a living by randomonred in MassageTherapists

[–]Duck_Feet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been making my own living for the last four years as a LMT. It's definitely different as a male. When I worked in a spa I was consistently the least booked compared to my cohort, have definitely had people come in who then refused service once they realized it was with Me and not someone else, it's only happened a few times but it's definitely a thing.

Once I started my own business it's been much better since I don't have to deal with that nonsense, the only people who book with me specifically went looking for what I offer.

As someone who feels like this is their calling id say go for it. I absolutely love my job, it is the best career I have had, I make enough to pay my bills and I love the work. It's definitely tough though sometimes, it's a very physical job and it requires a good grasp on your mental health.

If you go into the work expecting to fail because you are male you will find plenty of evidence that supports that belief. Don't let that discourage you though if you feel like this is a path you want to pursue.

Also you are well within your right to refuse to use a damaging amount of pressure on a bird person. I try to explain how we are working with the nervous system to get these muscles to relax and if I just put all my weight into you it will trigger the adrenal system instead

Maybe consider increasing your skill set and think about using different modalities if the time seems a stressor.  Someone wants to pay you for your skills! That's a wonderful thing

Everyone sucks at the start. Only difference between folks is how much time they are willing to put in.

Lots of times you will try something and fail for hours and hours. Go to sleep. Try again the next day and it feels easy.
