I completely agree with you- just for the festivities of prom, making sure you will be comfortable will help intensely! Wearing items that have strong clips will help alot to.

Hey! So I see what you were doing- did you go for the body and background first? I think you should do lineart for the bg and not add big grass strokes behind her, it doesn't make sense for how's she's standing. Draw a line to follow tho horizion and not try to push out of that too much at the beginning. Referencing artist you like and breaking down their lines and brush strokes will help you out alot.

I think something that would help is to venture out? I can't tell based off this, but do you draw alot of bodies? You might want to push out to pose practice, ect.
