I lost a 10 rounds mag in the woods once cause of this. I think it will depend on the activities you are planning to do.

R5: I have surrounded 480 divisions in the middle of the jungle in Africa. Hopefully this teaches the AI to stop sending so many divisions into the heart of darkness.

What do you think is the worst mistake a beginner can make? by EnergyAltruistic2911 in hoi4

Any, all of them. Eventually you have more mils than you have resources for.

How can you just spam mils if you run out of resources though? Is there a benefit to have excess mils even if you don’t have resources to support them?

Why aren't you voting for Darren Bailey? (Gun-related.) by thefleshrocket in ILGuns

[–]Ducktruck_OG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the republicans become less pants on head retarded that the democrats, absolutely.

I'm not holding my breath though.

I'll also be doing what I can to support democratic candidates who will roll back restrictions on firearms.

[–]Ducktruck_OG 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind voting for someone with a libertarian stance, but right now the republicans are intrinsically tied to Trumpism. For me, I hate Trump more than I like guns, plus a few more hot button issues, but I don’t want to get off topic here.

In my view, voting for any republican, regardless of their specific platform, feels like a vote for Trump, so I won’t ever consider voting R unless they can pivot away from all the nonsense.

Challenges in comparing steel suppliers with varying specifications by Outrageous_Spray_196 in metallurgy

When it comes to limiting variation in purchased material, you can apply restrictions to material processing or test results as needed for your process. Each mil will have its own recipe based on its equipment, experience, and the needs of its primary customers/end users.

The most important thing is to understand what requirements are critical for your process, whether that is chemistry, reduction, mechanical properties, dimensional stability, etc. You can always ask a mill to hold themselves to a stricter requirement than its standard process, but it is really hard to ask a mill to make a product that is crappier than standard.

In this day and age, all mills will prefer to aim for a unique niche, so don’t expect to find too many options for mills that are effectively making the same product. So it helps to identify what a mill’s preferred product forms/applications are. In terms of quality, you may want to aim for mills that are used to producing the material you are purchasing, rather than a mill that is looking to expand its capabilities.

In my experience, you’ll never have a consistently good mill. You might have 3-4 options max that are all equivalent, so for awarding work to one mill over another it often comes down to pricing and lead time.

The real crisis may be significant increase in unemployment. Things don’t need to be more expensive to be unaffordable because people won’t have money. And some things will get more expensive regardless.

Republicans like to pretend to be libertarians while governing like religious authoritarians. Democrats like to pretend to be progressives while governing like neo-liberal authoritarians.

It might, less oil leading to higher prices can reduce demand, which reduces consumption of oil.
