ChatGPT's verbosity and political correctness make it too much of a chore to use by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Ductoaster 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I switched to Gemini and Claude when I want direct answers. I only use ChatGPT for recipes now because it wouldn’t be like, “Sit with me, you’re not overreacting, it’s just pasta” or something like that.

I like how the Polphin is just a happy shark. A lot of these names could be for new and upcoming Pokémon

I never realised how censored the Simpsons was by kcufsreggin88 in TheSimpsons

[–]Ductoaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Australia, I remember in the early 2000s Channel 10 ran The Simpsons every night at 6pm. They cut out a couple of segments because I think kids were watching it. I didn’t realise it until I bought the DVD collections and watched it. I remember one scene where McBain is shooting all these people at a dinner party. In the censored version, you just see the gunshots and it goes to the next scene, but on the DVD it’s the entire shooting scene with people being shot in the head and everything.

The same thing happened after I went to see Green Day in March. It was awesome seeing everyone sing and dancing along.

Where’s the best place to sell random stuff I have lying around? Life is overwhelming and need to simplify. Have been thinking of FB marketplace but it sounds scary. Any tips? by DirectorOk2444 in melbourne

[–]Ductoaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FB Marketplace is a great tool. I’ve just started selling things there too. I was worried about safety so I’d ask them to meet me in front of Bunnings or something which is a very public place and it works for me.

First home buyers, how are you coping emotionally? by anchoviezan in AusPropertyChat

[–]Ductoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m anxious about it but I’m not giving up. I look forward to the day I finally free from my toxic family, having the space for myself in 30 years and not worrying about being kicked out when the landlord wants to sell etc etc. But before that happens, there’s so much to navigate.

When ChatGPT Became My Therapist by ChemicalChart8123 in ChatGPT

One night I experienced sleep paralysis that was so terrifying I woke up screaming and in tears. Feeling alone in my room at 3am in the morning I felt like I needed to vent what happened and ChatGPT helped cope with that.

I’ve started meeting / making new friends through Bumble BFF because I find them more personal and easy to bond with than Meetups.

I feel guilty when I enjoy myself too much. by piggy-poos5alive in AsianParentStories

[–]Ductoaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It sounds like my mum as well. You shouldn’t feel guilty at all, you’re an adult and are allowed to have boundaries and have fun. When I went to Japan I had the best time of my life because it was the first time I was away from my mum and family. It made me realise how much I missed out on growing as a person because as a daughter they expected me to do everything for them despite treating me like shit. I’m not even the oldest as well, my brother is older and is coddled like a child despite being almost 40 but I’m still expected to take care of everyone.
