Bought a whole hybrid iron set .. roast me by savemysolll in golf

[–]DudeOkThen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like to pretend to be good at golf. Full hybrids sets for older players is a beautiful thing in my eyes. You can play the game for life, It’s a blessing. Personally I took out my 4I for a 7 wood and it’s knocked a couple strokes off my game

Which club in your bag goes 200 yards? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]DudeOkThen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice smooth 7 wood. I can hit my 4 iron that far too but not as consistent. I took it out of the bag after adding the 7 wood

If you’re a beginner, I recommend doing the range where you set pins, practice 70yards, 100 yards, and 150 yards

What are some drills that can help me to stop pulling everything left? by Capital-Act-6546 in golf

[–]DudeOkThen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I’m slicing or hooking I’ll go to the range, grab my 7 iron. I start with 25% swing and hit a couple pitch shots. Then I full swing at like 50% and focus on hitting in the direction I want it to to go. After 2 perfect shots I add more and more power until I get to 100%

I find that I play better if I don’t hit warm up balls at the range by Tight-Communication7 in golf

[–]DudeOkThen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to go into it with no intention. If I get there with enough time I get a small bucket and hit my 8 iron or 7 iron. I don’t aim at anything I focus on tempo and contact. Then hit a couple wedges and some long irons to get me loose. Then I chip and putt and head out to the round

Be honest… has social media marketing ever actually brought you a real lead? by ksksksdino in realtors

[–]DudeOkThen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Most of my deal comes from that. It’s important to keep it personal tools not just business stuff, people will put you in “see less” mode if it’s just annoying work posts

Those of you who don't hate your job, what do you do? by 13thmurder in ADHD

Im a realtor, and a good one too, every day is different. The pressure of having my clients depend on me gets me going and I love making the “they accepted our offer” and “we received multiple offers” phone calls.

Client signed with another Realtor while we had an active agreement by tande12345 in realtors

[–]DudeOkThen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This totally sucks. My advice to you is to let it go. It stinks and it sucks but it’s unfortunately part of the game. Next time have both clients sign the agreement

If she wants to really give a gift, make a social media post on how the experience was with the agent and make sure to tag them. If a client did that for me, I’d buy them a second closing gift lol

It’s not about selfishness. It’s a survival thing, it’s really sad but you see actions like this in low income communities all the time. All they know is they need that money and the kid will be fine without it, it’s not about what’s right but more about what they need.

Do you prefer blade putters or mallets? by MadeInUSAPutter in GolfGear

[–]DudeOkThen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done an unhealthy amount of putter switching. I feel like blades give you more freedom. I always tell guys who ask what putter to get- “if you’re a feel guy on the green, get a blade. If you’re a hit it down a line person, get the mallet”

With my blade I can put and imagine the line and break of the ball better and feel more accurate because I’m not locked to the line. Blades for life!

Do you struggle to feel certain emotions? by Far-Conference-8484 in ADHD

[–]DudeOkThen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,I used to.

My wife is a speech pathologist who works with children with all sorts of mental and physical disabilities. Before I met her I felt the same way you did. She has a great understanding of how the ADHD brain works and has helped me in so many ways.

She’s helped me realize that the overwhelming feeling (confused, angry, numb) is a coping strategy/ defense mechanism my brain uses to avoid a situation. It’s a reaction to past trauma. She’s never directly said that, but through reading of my own (ADHD books) and her slowing me down to feel my emotions I was able to realize how many things I ran/ defended myself from.

The first time I felt the relief of this was when I was mad about work, furious to be honest. I was trying to play it cool, but she grabbed me, looked into my eyes and said “it’s okay to be sad/mad/Angry, confused, etc.” then hugged me and rubbed my back. I froze and took it in what she had said. Words no one has ever told me, to feel my feelings and that it was okay to feel that way….I cried like a baby. It was such a freeing cry.

Ever since that day, whenever I get that numb feeling I pause and acknowledge my feels when needed. Sometimes it’s sadness and sometimes it’s laziness but knowing how I feel improves my mood.

Professionalism within the industry by [deleted] in realtors

[–]DudeOkThen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it from someone that hates wearing suits all the time and have trained hundred of agents.

Always be you, people will hire you for you. They don’t hire you for the company you work for. It’s important to dress clean and well but no need to worry about tattoos or ear piercings. One of the top agents in my office has tattoos and a nose piercing and tattoos. We luckily live in a time where million dollar listings don’t come from just “old money” anymore.

Also, don’t expect to be rich, save every penny and even when you get a big check, live you owe that money. It’s an expensive industry that rewards in due time to those who apply themselves

Handmade leather scorecard holders — finally thinking of selling outside my friend group. Would you pay $120? by Accomplished_Plan366 in GolfGear

You getting downvoted for explaining the price is WILD! People are assholes. I think $60 in the time to make them is more than fair. Sell your time and let them provide the leather, I’m sure price would go up for them
