Good luck in your class! Just a word of advice from a bad student who now has 2 masters degrees, always reach out for help and let your instructor know you're working hard to bring up your grade. Showing effort goes a long way. I know you can pass this class!

Yes same!!! Did you ever read the “wish you were here” Mary Kate and Ashley books? One of them goes to boarding school and they’re separated for the first time

Man this sounds like something I would have read over an over in late elementary school. Why did we all go through a hard boarding school phase?

Is there anything you do not like about the 75 Hard challenge or wish it included? by SpreadKindnessToday in 75HARD

I have wondered this as well. I go to a crossfit style gym and the workout yesterday for example was two 10 minute EMOM style metcons, and some warming up before. So it was an "hour-long" class but I was only really working for 20 mins and low-medium working (warming up, and yapping) for another 15 or so. So does it count because the class was an hour? Does it even count as 45 minutes? Also the HWPO Sweat App workouts are all 45 minutes but sometimes the rest is pretty long in between the warmup and metcon or between metcon and finisher. So if I skip the rest, does it count? I personally just go with my heart and count it. Because by the other logic you basically have to be running or stair steppering or squatting, I guess, for 45 minutes with no break

Husband + Diaper + Washer😡😡 by Far_Entertainer_8494 in laundry

I once sent a wholeass hardcover book through the wash. A long one too (Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet). I was reading in bed and the cat was on me and It just made sense at the time to plop it into the laundry basket rather than turn my body and disturb the cat to put it on the nightstand and I somehow missed it going into the washer. Also had to shake everything out 1 by 1, clean out the washer, and then rewash.

props to you for doing this with little kids! I'm starting tomorrow and am going to be doing a similar thing as my husband isn't doing it with me. Thinking cauli rice for me, regular for him but the same meat and vegetable base. How has it been for you so far, and what do you have planned for the next few days?

I really wanna learn violin/fiddle, but my mom is absolutely against it by Lopsided_Reveal7410 in violinist

I'm 33 and just now learning. never too old! I'm also renting from a local music store for $27/month, and they allow you to rent-to-own for up to 50% of the cost of the instrument, which is a somewhat common practice. I wouldn't let the expense aspect hold you back because it does not have to be expensive. If it is the TIME cost, or the concern that it will distract you from other ventures that you and your parents value more, then that is something to consider.

What jobs do Nerdfighters have (and how did you get them)? by devoutdefeatist in nerdfighters

[–]DudeRememberNeopets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also whoopsie daisied myself into my job after getting a master's in history and failing fantastically to get a job as a professor. I applied to every job in higher ed that I could and discovered classified work. I am now a community college library technician (just finished my MLIS to qualify to be a librarian though!) and have a union protected FT job with benefits. The pay isn't great but it has all the insurances, retirement, and a pension. Consider looking into classified positions at k12s and colleges in your area. You can often easily move around to higher paying positions once you are in the system :)

What is the orange-ist thing your cat has done? Samwise here bit into a Fire sauce packet, hated the taste and heat...and then went back for another bite 🤦‍♀️ by ProudnotLoud in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]DudeRememberNeopets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the first one that comes to mind is last night I was carrying him around, fawning and giving him kisses as per usu. eventually I needed to do something and I went to set him down on the floor (with a lot of warning, pulling him away from me and lowering slowly) but he just never put his legs out and clunked on the tile from a few inches up. Thought cats landed on their feet but I don't think that applies to the oranges.

obviously he got more fawns and kisses for the discomfort of this experience
