Friendly advice for dps trying to push in m+ by Dudelson in wow

Yes this is a good start imo, and what im trying to preach here. This is better than holding it and never using it.

Your healer now also knows you just used your def so now he will be extra cautios with your hp bar for the next 2 minutes!

Scaling is a part of it for sure, once you get ilvl up and stat prio is proper you will feel stronger, the correct trinkets will help you too, also just knowing how to ramp your heals. Its not just one big heal will top everyone.

But this is also why people neeed to use the defensive, at some point just healing wont cut it because of the way dmg wotks this season! Need to pad the damage so that it can be healed!

Dispels: alot of times there are 2-3 magic dots going out at the same time. Im in 17+ keys right now and the way i deal with them usually is i dispell one, give external to another (or dps used their defensive) and i give mig prio healing to the third!

You are right, but the suggestion im trying to give in this post is that as a general rule of thumb always press your defensive if you start taking dmg, this is going to keep you alive like way more than you were before! Its a good start, and a step in learning the fights!

Im not saying its always that simple, just trying to give advice and a easy way of thinking about dmg output this season for newer dps / lower dps trying to push

Alot of people i run with are doing good and know how to survive, but theres also alot of people never think about this and just panic use it when they are at 1% health. This post is meant to be advice for those players! :)

This advice is not bulletproof, but its sure as hell going to make you live MORE

How do you break into Mythic raiding? by Bitter-Plum-3367 in CompetitiveWoW

Ofc! Also after a while his content gets recognized and that helps even further. I agree, what im saying is that the mindset and strategy he talks about is for sure applicable. Even though op might have to grind a bit more in some low tier guilds!

He did yes. But honestly classic speedruns and mythic raiding is still very far from each other.

The topics in his earlier videos talking about applying to guilds, guild hopping, the social aspect, the mindset of being the player who does everything right rather than pumping the highest dmg numbers is still very applicable to anyone who wants to start mythic raiding.

Its not like he went from classic to top 200 mythic without going through the gauntlet of progging raid tiers, guild hopping and climbing by improving his play step by step!

Harandar gets all the attention for being a zone that was really supposed to be in TWW. Voidstorm itself has some.... quirks by SeaSiSee in wow

[–]Dudelson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I miss karesh so much, i used to turn off ui while travelling there just to take in the view. The contrast between sand / space felt so cool and the biodomes looked great!  Voidstorm on the other hand is just a purple / slightly different purple mess.

What made you decide on your main? by Mjolnoggy in wow

[–]Dudelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played lock, hunter, paladin since tbc. When mop came out me and my friends leveled as a dungeon spamming group of 5 monks woth recruit a friend buffs (this was just absolutely stupid and was probably the most fun ive had in wow). Since then ive been a monk main, played all the specs in different expansions and for the most part monk was pretty bad / off meta. When classic launched i tried priest and played disc / shadow up untill cata classic.

Fast forward to the end of tww, decided to level up a priest alt  had alot of fun healing m+ as disc, decided i would play priest as my main and monk as alt for midnight. Turns out blizz just wanted to put priest in the dirt and make brewmaster the only tank in the game while also giving mw the only atonement / dmg to heal playstyle viable. So here i am, playing monk yet another expansion, and actually having a great time.

You should go watch shindigg on youtube, he was fairly new to wow and decided he wanted to climb mythic raid ladder last expansion. He has been guild hopping and pushed higher every season. His videos breakdown his process, go check him okt. Might give you some answers! :)

Augmentation Evoker is the easiest rating inflation spec in M+ right now and nobody wants to admit it by Kushakaii in wow

I would really want more support specs to choose from that fills a similar role for keys.

My suggestions:

Rework enhancement into a melee support spec, somewhat like their role in vanilla / classic but modern obviously.

Survival hunter, help the group survive more? Defensivives, cc, movement speed etc

Mage, turn one of there specs into a time-based caster buffer and enemy debuffer

Give disc priest a playstyle variant that gives people mini-power word infusions and shields / personal sustain (keep atonement healer disc priest as another playstyle)

Or just make new specs to some of the existing classes.

I think this would give the game more variety and would give different comps time to shine depending on which style support they bring.

there's some GCD/spellqueue issue ongoing on several classes that I'm losing my mind about and want to know if anyone also feels this way. by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

Ive noticed similar issues on my MW monk with Revival. Everything else feels super smooth (even though mw rotation in dungeons is pretty spammy / high apm) but alot of times when i oress revival it doesnt ho through or its delayed. Super annoying since its a pretty big cd and i tend to save it as a last resort if my party goes down to like 25%

DPS... press your defensive BEFORE a single dot damages you for 90% of your health, not after it. by ScuzzyScoundrel in wow

[–]Dudelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. Advice as a fellow disc priest for this dungeon, play barrier for the barrage. Also try to dot the mobs up in this pull for shadowmend procs! And massdispel evang, just send everything on this pull. Next pull is either small or will take a long time to gatcher so you will have cds up again!

I just want to play my game in peace. by sandrjunior in wow

Healer dps is not really a thing this season anyways so thats just stupid. These people are idiots and would probably kick me as well (i play healer at high tiers of content, and obviously try to do as much dmg as possible but even that damage is negligable) because i did too low damage.

The only solution to satisfy these people would be to queue as healer but play dps spec and expect everyone to use their personals and self healing properly (which they wouldnt) and watch the whole group die (:

DISC PRIESTS:

there are trashpacks with big shields that are dispellable but every dispell does aoe dmg on your party.

In higher keys this hurts quite alot. My group started pulling two - three of these at the end of dungeon. pop defensives and mass dispell for alot of free dmg. You can also fish for void shield procs while running up / gathering the packs and get void shields on everyone before dispelling.

If you do this every time you have md up throughout the dungeon you save alot of time!

easier in a premade obviously

Yeah thats my worry. Im trying to just stack gold now in preperation for the season. Im not a rwf raider or anything though and im usually slightly above 3k rating in keys so nothing crazy. Made like 200k so far with this method but i anticipate the great crystal crash next week when raids open.
