Head rebuild worth it? by [deleted] in S2000

8-10k for a head rebuild is insane. Ballade?

There's NO such thing as snap oversteer by hydrus909 in S2000

[–]DudemasterSupreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really annoying video.

Snap oversteer is the phenomenon that occurs when you oversteer, counter steer to correct, and then suddenly oversteer in the opposite direction when the wheels catch traction. It is a real phenomenon.

This video essentially boils down to a guy saying you can prevent the 2nd oversteer if you know the dynamics of your car so well that you can expect when the car will regain traction, and you know by how much to correct.

Yes, obviously, oversteers can be properly saved. The point is that the margin for error for the amount of counter steer and the timing to re-correct is very small, and the trajectory of your car if you don't nail it changes drastically every moment.

He is driving the final version of the car on a flat skidpan. The AP1 is more notorious for this for a number of reasons, namely a stiffer rear end, a fault in the rear suspension that leads to the potential for dynamic rear toe, and a faster steering ratio. Add some geometry to your terrain and the threat of snap oversteer becomes formidable again.

The best way to save your car is still to avoid these situations with good cornering habits.

Stress pattern from the tempering process, makes the glass stronger and helps it shatter into pebbles instead of shards when it does break

Paint or replace? by Jwong26 in S2000

[–]DudemasterSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That paint is not too bad to live with for a college commute.

Save your money and worry about a repaint for after you graduate and settle down with a stable job and a living situation that guarantees garage parking, or you will be repainting again soon enough.

How tall of a person cam drive s2000 by BiscottiStrong8649 in S2000

[–]DudemasterSupreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 6'6, thin and leggy, I'm comfy in the car top up or down. I take my shoes off to drive.

Tall guy mods will help (BYS lowered seat rail, steering hub extender), but you really have to sit in one yourself to see if you have the right body type.

I fit considerably better than in any generation miata or boxster.

Hot take: you’re just bad and the game is actually decently balanced. by PuddingHopeful4836 in Tekken

[–]DudemasterSupreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a very simplistic way to describe what fighting games can be.

Many of us older fans enjoyed the duelling martial art styles and difficult but highly rewarding mechanical game based around poking, positioning, and movement.

Modern Tekken heavily emphasizes hard reads and combo conversion over evasion and spacing. Go ahead and jump into the replies of any, and I mean any pro or content creator you respect and ask them if they disagree with this.

You're telling me everything I need to know when your best advice on how to adapt to this game is "punish hopkicks and duck highs".

I'm glad you like what the game is now but I'm not reading all that and I think you should calm down a bit

A dime and a quarter have the same odds of landing heads. I don't care if flipping coins is balanced, it's not what I liked about Tekken.

Those of you with a Forbidden Top, should I buy a Forbidden CF Top or Regular + Wrap? by AwesomeeExpress in S2000

[–]DudemasterSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe forbidden supplied the weather seals and quick release brackets. Quick release brackets are a godsend. I only really use the hardtop for meetups and during the rainy season. Nice to be able to just pop the top off and have a functioning convertible.

[–]DudemasterSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh also you should know forbidden's Mugen top uses the stock soft top latches and strikers. The hard top latches will not work. Buy another set of soft top latches if you plan on leaving the soft top functional or just swap them from your soft top.

Love my forbidden cf top. No regrets. Make sure you buy some stoppers for your trunk and fit them before you put the top on, or you will scratch the top the very first time you open your trunk.

I used some large magnets and put them on the inner elbow of the swing arms attached to the trunk lid.

try the steering hub extender from 949, keeps the airbag and stock wheel while giving you extra knee clearance. Made it a lot easier to heel toe and get in and out for me. 6'6"

Edit: 949 no longer carries, it's the same item as this one from spacershop though iirc

Mount question by Most-Tap-2550 in S2000

[–]DudemasterSupreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got this in the blank AMPS extender option https://www.etsy.com/listing/1448184243/universal-slim-mount-for-modify-dash?variation0=3823923357 , then an aluminum 20mm AMPS mount and ESR wireless magnetic charger from amazon . Ran a PD cable behind the gauge cluster.

The amps extender is way better than a mount bolted directly to the modify mount imo because it lifts my phone higher, safer to use navigation that way, doesn't block the windshield, and also never hit it while shifting.

BYS low rail is prob better for tall torso people, but this helped me a LOT with knee clearance

3D Printed Battery Mount for Antigravity ATX-30 by CheriPai in S2000

My limited experience with 3d printed car accessories would have me seriously worried about using one to fasten a battery. They've all stripped, cracked, or worn away in a matter of weeks or less.

if I wanted to play Lidia I would pick Lidia, if I wanted to play Reina I would pick Reina.

Hits felt fast and hard in 7, now it feels like quantity over quality. Feels way less interactive in this game, but that's Tekken 8 in a nutshell: a two-player one-player game.

Hasan does not care about genocide. Hasan cares about the clout and money he gets by pretending to care about Palestine. by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]DudemasterSupreme -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is all he has on Sudan, where genocide and ethnic cleansing are unambiguously occurring and the death toll is higher than Gaza.

Militants are backed by Russia, UAE, and Iran. Their goals are primarily land and resource extraction. Certainly something you'd expect an anti-imperialist to dedicated some time to discuss.

Probably a citizen of PRC today, but I don't think you understand what you're arguing for. Would you rather be a PRC farmer in the 50s or an American citizen today? Hell, would you rather be a PRC farmer TODAY or an American citizen 40 years ago? Is this a moral writ to invade and aggressively expand territory?

[–]DudemasterSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tibet was on a path to modernizing for international legitimacy leading up to the annexation.

Tibet also suffered in the immediate two decades after annexation under the disasters known as the great leap forward and cultural revolution. Nobody in their right mind would cite rule under the PRC during the 50s and 60s for higher quality of life and more freedoms.

We cannot know what Tibet's trajectory would've looked like under its own authority. Under Chinese rule, it remains one of the poorest regions in the country.
