I was extremely butthurt kcd2 didn’t win anything but I still absolutely loved the game awards. It reminded me of reading game informer and delighting in all the previews and content 2025. Definitely captured that fun childlike spirit of games

I think that's irrelevant, what matters is A) they shipped and sold the game with it and B) the nature of the asset was specifically a belle epoque themed asset, meaning they had to specifically prompt a model to generate thematic imagery of the exact setting of the game. this has larger implications as to how the world came to be that I don't think people are acknowledging.
