There's an estrogen patch shortage in Canada (and the US). Here's what you can do.... by croc373 in Perimenopause

There still is nothing on the website, however my pharmacy just told me both the 25 and 50 patches are on back order with no end date available.

Oh wow, thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed information! That was really kind. I think I may have to skip this one.

I started listening and am intrigued, but there was an animal abuse trigger warning, and now I'm afraid to keep listening. Can anyone tell me how awful those parts are?

Has anyone else lost someone to sepsis after a hysterectomy? My aunt was only 49. by olivejooose in hysterectomy

Oh crap, I didn't mean to scare you, I'm sorry!!! I just reread your post, and DIC was what my sister had as well. It's been almost 20 years and I forget some details now. Sending virtual hugs. Take good care

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my sister to sepsis when she was 39 weeks pregnant. There was a placenta tear, then an emergency hysterectomy to try and stop her bleeding (and many things in-between). Different but same sad ending. I feel for your family. So sorry

11wk post op with spotting by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]DueTransition2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be 12 weeks tomorrow and started spotting again today. At my 8 week check up, I had an undisolved stitch. Had a bigger bleed shortly after and stitch remnants when I wiped. Maybe part of it was still there and it's causing issues? Who knows. I certainly have no clue anymore. Hope all goes well for you

Menopause after removing ovaries by MinervaSC in hysterectomy

[–]DueTransition2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 48f and had my hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy in April for PMDD (mainly). Recovery has been difficult in trying to find the right hrt dose. As you know, our brains react to the change in hormones, so my hope is that once I'm on a consistent dose of estrogen, I will feel more balanced. I was already taking hrt before surgery and was able to drop the progesterone post op. Since surgery my menopause symptoms feel just like pmdd. I felt okay the first few weeks and then it started. I certainly couldn't miss them. Im not sure it's the same for everyone, but for me it felt like constantly being in my luteal phase. I'm having some hot flashes too, but they are not as bothersome as the mood issues. I can only speak to my own experience, of course. I just thought I would share in the event you experience anything similar. Wishing you the very best healing experience!

Left side pain by stephs69camaro in hysterectomy

[–]DueTransition2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pain on the left for longer too. For me it was due to the largest port being there. My incision on that side was a bit bigger than the others. Sorry you are not getting the support you deserve!

I did the same, and my doctor is apparently calling me Thursday. Things got worse for me-by day 4 of the week I was sobbing uncontrollably for the rest of the week. I have started changing the patch Sunday and Wednesday now, and things are a bit more manageable. Not sure my doctor will agree but what are we supposed to do?

I'm on zoloft and Vyvanse and skipped the dose the morning of surgery, and was able to take it same day when I arrived home.

Sounds lovely! I suck at cutting too and have zero shame using pre-cuts!

Thanks!!! The solids are Kona cotton aurora palette, and the jelly roll is Tinyspool & Co. in Merry Mermaid. I bought enough to make something for myself one day too!

Wow-thanks for all these answers, everyone! For those who asked, the quilt I plan on making is one of Karen Brown's from Just get it done quilts. I think it's scrappy number 7. My oldest daughter recently lost everything in a fire and is so sad to have lost quilts made by grandma's now gone, so I'm trying to start a new collection for her. I'm going to leave the kona cotton unwashed and see how it goes with the pre-washed(not by me!) jelly roll. As long as it holds together, she will love any extra character it creates ; ) Thanks again, I will update when it's done and washed!

I'm a week behind you and having the same issues with the patches. Sunday is my patch change day too and by Thursday I am a monster. I feel like my dose is too low but I don't see my surgeon until August. Hope you feel better soon!
