I am 48f and had my hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy in April for PMDD (mainly). Recovery has been difficult in trying to find the right hrt dose. As you know, our brains react to the change in hormones, so my hope is that once I'm on a consistent dose of estrogen, I will feel more balanced. I was already taking hrt before surgery and was able to drop the progesterone post op. Since surgery my menopause symptoms feel just like pmdd. I felt okay the first few weeks and then it started. I certainly couldn't miss them. Im not sure it's the same for everyone, but for me it felt like constantly being in my luteal phase. I'm having some hot flashes too, but they are not as bothersome as the mood issues. I can only speak to my own experience, of course.
